My FitBit. Hardest thing about taking this photo was getting in focus and snapping the shutter before the screen went blank. HMM and thanks for any views, faves and comments.

thank you for your visits, comments and faves, all appreciated
My Fitbit goes with me everywhere. If I work out and forget to turn it on to track the workout, I don't feel like I've done a workout. I may be a bit obsessed with trackers and workout statistics I must admit.
This photo is for Macro Mondays theme Everyday Day Carries. It had me thinking I pretty much only carry a car "fob" , a phone & my trusty Fitbit (on about my 10th now) these days. No need for a wallet when your phone has your cards, license, travel card and everything else you need. Most of the time I just swipe my Fitbit for small purchases. Haven't used cash for years. I'm not sure if that is a good or a bad thing, but its convenient, love travelling light and unencumbered.
Happy new week out there !

...a few of them actually, never leave home without the bling or the Fitbit.
....There are days when I walk right by the camera without a second thought though.
My FitBit. Something that is very familiar because it is with me all the time.

Fitbit training with camera gear & weird weather resulted in this almost monochromatic HDR.

My Fitbit Versa 2 broke so I had to get a new one. This is what I chose for Something New Macro Monday Theme for this week.
I got a CABG done. Yes, a Cardiac Bypass Surgery on the 7th January '22. I have been gifted a new lease of life surely & it all started with a gadget that never goes off my wrist.
On my daily walk cum jog of 10 kilometers plus every day, of late I could sense slight lightheadedness if I'd increase the pace & intensity of the jog. I'd stop for a few seconds, check my Fitbit watch, compare it with Neha's figures running alongside & wonder how mine would never now go in my Cardio Target Zone of 135-140 BPM. It'd always hover around 110 & yet have a buzz in the head.
Mind you, I had completed a grueling 160 km trek through 4200 meters above MSL, the Kashmir Great Lakes Trek in Mid-September & there was a fair bit of confidence in cardiac & overall fitness. But something was amiss.
I contacted as always, our in-house Doctors, my son, Dr. Anshuman Desai & my cricket-team-mate & brother in law, Dr. Samir Desai. Echo & Stress Cardiogram performed by Dr. Biren Sitwala showed a drop in Blood Pressure * Pulse but no blockages. Dr.Himanshu Desai, though opined that these were classic signs of blockage & Dr. Pragnesh Shah, a Cardiac Interventionologist & another cricket teammate, nailed it to three big blockages of 30, 90 & 100% in the three coronary arteries, in the Angiogram performed by him the next day. He opined that a cardiac event was lurking right around the corner.
The next day, Dr. Jagdish Mange, the best Cardio-Thoracic Surgeon in Surat, if not in the country, performed the CABG. The man is not only a Genius but one of the most humble & modest people that I have met.
I am thankful to all these amazing doctors for the new whiff of breath in me. Thanks to Fitbit too.
Everything checks out and I'm all ready for my activity for the day - a walk in the nature reserve. (Scroll over the photo and you can see what I'm taking :-.)
my somewhat battered, scratched and grubby Fitbit Charge 5 is probably the only "watch" in the house. Mobile phones have supplanted watches almost completely and I only wear this one for capturing my daily steps.
Certainly it is the only one that i can see today for a MacroMondays picture ...so I have gone with that!
Macro Mondays staying healthy theme.
Purchased this week. Perfect timing for this theme. Thought I'd see if I could produce a photo close to the product image on the box like below.
Black room, 1/4 sec exposure for display to show up, two strobes beneath and behind white plexi base and soft box respectively.

My son decided to torture me on Mother's Day by taking me on a 5 km hike.

One of my favorite places for hiking and jogging in Switzerland is uphill between never ending vineyards.
A Mayfly that landed on Lorna's wrist while we were walking through Neilstonside Wood. It looks like it's reaching for her Fitbit.
This was my step count at the end of Vital Flight's Special Day for Special Kids event of May 14, 2022. Whew!
I usually walk about 6-8 miles a day, every day. My goal was to walk more miles than I did last year. Time for a new goal. Last year I walked 1860 miles and I've already walked 1989 this year with 3 months to go.

See that break between dots on my Fitbit? That break means that I forgot to get up and move around—and get 250 steps—between noon and one p.m.

my mother's day present from my DD. and last week i figured out that if i take the little piece out (as if i were charging it) and put it into an empty travel sized advil container, i can take it into the pool for pool PT. if you decide to try this, test out your container first by putting a piece of paper inside and sinking it for a couple of hours to see if the paper stays dry, before putting in the fitbit part!!

I make an effort to get at least 10K steps a day. I walk about 2 miles around my neighborhood every morning and then another hour on the treadmill at night
