The Canon EOS 5D Mark II + EF 24-105/4L IS USM was my workhorse until I got the Nikon D800 & D800E with the 70-200 mm 2.8 VR2 zoom.
Canon, Nikon, you can't go wrong with the pretty 45surf model goddesses! (Though the D800 is my new love.)

This is my ninth year covering this fun festival filled with color and pageantry and beautiful people. Each year some of the regulars return and sometimes fresh new faces appear to join the renaissance family. Some are vendors or employees, and some customers dress up to fit in with the renaissance festival fun and its 16th century way of life. One big happy family of a few thousand escaping the dull-drums of their daily life for a few hours. This year's crop of new faces was lovely. Hope you enjoy the images. I try to capture their joy. Always fun, festive and very colorful. Thanks very much for looking.

With the black 45surf surfboard! It gets hot in the sand in the sun! Wearing a leather Buffalo Nickel Cowboy Hat! :)
Combine the shallow-depth-of-field with Sony NEX-6's latest face-tracking auto focus, and you can see how the moving video keeps the model's pretty blue eyes in focus, while blurring the background! The Sony Alpha NEX 6 has much better bokeh than the cameras I have been using! :)

Week 6 ~ 52 weeks of feeling fit
Just got back from the gym. I had my second actual personal training session. Very intense, but really fun too. I love that Christina has me doing different things. It makes me sore the next day but mixing it up is really good!
Joining this gym was an awesome idea. I've been taking advantage of their group fitness classes and I love it! The yoga classes are great. Even though they're relaxing, they can be really difficult too. The RPM class is super intense. Loving it! It's also right next door so that's really helpful. Especially with all the crazy snow we've been getting lately it's a lot easier to go when it's a less than 1 minute drive.
It's also giving me a nice activity to keep myself busy now that Steve's gone at the olympics. It's been kind of hard this week without him, but I think a lot of that has to do with being snowed in all week. No work at all! Just me at home alone for the last 5 days! I'm going to be super grateful for work the next two weeks to keep me busy :)
I love you Steve, and I hope you're having an awesome time :) Miss you!
