After we went surfing at Surfrider's Beach (starting at 5:30 AM) we headed on up to a private beach close to Zuma Beach!
Beautiful Surf Girl Bikini Swimsuit Model Goddesses!
I am refinishing these photos in Lightroom 5! They were tall, thin, fit, athletic goddesses! A blond and a brunette! They were surfing on longboards that day close to the Malibu Lagoon on surfrider's beach, before we headed up to the private beach.
Shot with a Panasonic DMC-FZ50--a nifty little camera that still had a CCD in it, instead of the cmos sensor!
The crawler-transporter 2, with NASA's mobile launcher atop, makes its way up the ramp to the top of Launch Pad 39B at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, on Aug. 31, 2018. Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracels took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the bright sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS, but still awesome and enough I felt!
What a beautiful way to test the Nikon D810 and Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens for sports photography!

this might be the classic wireframe modular model, the most famous, the one that's most known in the common origami world, maybe the one that started it all.
I might be wrong, though.
it's a compound of 5 intersecting tetrahedron frames. it was discovered by tom hull and he uses a variant of the well-known francis-ow-unit.
I've long felt that at some point I should fold this model. and now the time was right. folding the units was a bit tedious because you have to do the same thing over and over again (which is a strange complaint from a tesselator).
the assembly was when it got really interesting. this model's got a really nice inherent symmetry which might not be really clear from a photo. that's why I also posted a video to show the model from different angles. anyway, this inner symmetry really leaves you not much choice in the interweaving process.
placing the last tetrahedron was actually the easiest part because there was not much room left where I could put the units (the model isn't loose at all). the third tetrahedron maybe was the hardest for me.
anyway, this model gave me a bit of a brain twist but also a lot of fun in the end.
and I feel that it's one of the models that maybe every origamist should have folded in his time. some kind of pretty famous designs, often models that some origamist very well known for. I've tried to compile a list of those, it contains e.g. eric joisel's rat, shuzo fujimoto's hydrangea, FIT, the kawasaki rose, some tomoko fuse boxes, román diáz' vixen, jun maekawa's devil, robert lang's koi, chris palmer's flower tower. any other suggestions are welcome... : )

The blue-eyed goddess was modeling the gold 45 revolver gold'n'virtue bikini with the famous golden gun/colt 45 revolver from my favorite film--Sergio Leone's and Clint Eastwood's "Fistful of Dollars!"
Combine the shallow-depth-of-field with Sony NEX-6's latest face-tracking auto focus, and you can see how the moving video keeps the model's pretty blue eyes in focus, while blurring the background! The Sony Alpha NEX 6 has much better bokeh than the cameras I have been using! :)

Big moment it has been a real struggle to get the wings on but I have done it. They need to be sanded and shaped more but they are on a test fit is used to confirm they are correct. Beading added to the front end, bonnet detail scribed in and hinge added. Millput used to plug the holes. model is set aside to dry and cure.

A gorgeous "dark lady" goddess for all my flickr fans! Many, many more to come! We shot all morning under a sunny sky and through an intermittent AM haze which diffused the rays of the Sun God Helios. :) Pretty dark eyes and dark hair! A tall, thin, fit goddess!
