Brixham is a coastal town and civil parish in the borough of Torbay in the county of Devon, in the south-west of England. As of the 2021 census, Brixham had a population of 16,825. It is one of the main three centres of the borough, along with Paignton and Torquay.

It is believed that the name Brixham originates from the personal name of an early resident, Brioc, followed by the Old English suffix, ham meaning home. The town, which is predominantly hilly, is built around a natural harbour, which in addition to leisure craft, provides anchorage for what is now one of England's (but not the UK's) largest remaining commercial fishing fleets. A conspicuous local tourist attraction is the permanently moored replica of Sir Francis Drake's ship Golden Hind.

Historically, Brixham was made up of two separate communities connected by a marshy lane. In Fishtown, in the immediate vicinity of the harbour, the residents made a living mainly from fishing and related trades, as the name suggests. Cowtown, one mile (1.6 km) inland in the vicinity of what is now St Mary's Square, made its living from agriculture. Cowtown is on the road out of town to the south-west in the direction of Kingswear. St Mary's Square is overlooked by a sizeable church standing on the site of a Saxon original.

On 5 November 1688, the Dutch stadtholder William of Orange landed in Brixham with 40,000 soldiers, sailors, and volunteers, before marching on London, where he was crowned King William III as part of the Glorious Revolution.

Kattoli Beach is an attractive beach on the southern side of the Dhaka-Chittagong highway, a little away from Chittagong city. This beach in South Kattali Ward of Pahartali Police Station is unknown to many. Another name of this beach is Jelepara Beach. Here you can see the lifestyle of fishermen very closely and if you want you can buy fish from them.

Beach on one side and rural environment on the other cannot be found in any other beach. And most of all it will be nice to see many birds in Keora forest here. And one can spend a day sitting inside this Keora forest listening to the gentle breeze and roar of the sea. Sea birds are usually seen on the beach. In addition to sea birds, the beaches here are dominated by birds such as pigeons, woodpeckers, pigeons, bhat shaliks, khanjana. So Kattoli Beach is undoubtedly a unique beach.

In my boat along Gothenburg coastline = www.youtube.com/watch?v=OB8C6jHDSSA visiting Önnered, Fiskebäck, Hinsholmskilen, Saltholmen and Långedrag.

Fiskebäck is a modern fishing harbor constructed in the 1950s. Fiskebäck is the largest fishing village in Sweden. In the harbor is an ice factory and a netfactory in barn-red, which was designed in the 1960s. Next to the ice factory is a café, which also has program activities and a fishing museum.

There is also a large marina with shipyard and naval stores, and nearby is the Fiskebäck beach.

Tarua Beach is currently a potential tourist destination. The beauty of Tarua Island, which rises in the Bay of Bengal in Dhalchar Union under Dakshin Aicha Police Station of Bhola District, is truly eye-catching.

Nature's form is seen here in the play of light and darkness. You will also find a spectacular view of the Red Sun getting lost in the chest of the Red Sea by climbing the stairs in the evening sky. You will also be mesmerized by the incomparable sight of the whole beach being filled with redness.

Italia, Toscana, Marina Pisa, Estate 2023

The characteristic huge fishing nets (the so-called "retoni") that can be found at the mouth of the Arno river create a suggestive scenario, especially in cold winter months. It is as if time has come to a standstill, the palafitte huts remain as proof of the tradition of Pisa fishermen: fish is sold fresh.

Conwy Castle & Docks, North Wales

Gratitude, Conwy

Conwy Castle and the town walls were built, on the instruction of Edward I of England, between 1283 and 1289, as part of his conquest of the principality of Wales. The church standing in Conwy has been marked as the oldest building in Conwy and has stood in the walls of Conwy since the 14th century. However, the oldest structure is part of the town walls, at the southern end of the east side. Here one wall and the tower of Llewellyn the Great's Llys [court house] have been incorporated into the wall. Built on a rocky outcrop, with an apsidal tower, it is a classic, native, Welsh build and stands out from the rest of the town walls, due to the presence of four window openings. It dates from the early 13th century and is the most complete remnant of any of his Llys.

People born within the town walls of Conwy in north Wales are nicknamed "Jackdaws", after the jackdaws which live on the walls there. A Jackdaw Society existed until 2011

The River Conwy is a river in north Wales. From its source to its discharge in Conwy Bay it is a little over 27 miles long. "Conwy" was formerly Anglicised as "Conway." The name 'Conwy' derives from the old Welsh words 'cyn' and 'gwy', the river being originally called the 'Cynwy'.

beautiful traditional fishery scenario we encountered in a small bay near Leknes, Lofoten. Unfortunately I got the impression that a majority of former fishermen had hung their hats and nets at a hook, renting out their fishermen huts to international tourists instead. The death of traditional ways of life as we experience it painfully on every step we take through this forcefully merged and equalized world, prone to "globalization" rape and erradication of all that once was unique ...

..... on my favorite beach

A surreal promontory of shingle, Dungeness lies on a headland on the south part of Romney Marsh. It is formed largely of a shingle beach in the form of a foreland, between New Romney, Lydd and Camber on Romney Marsh and shelters a large area of the low-lying land Romney Marsh, this place is so weird, but beautiful.

Yes it was windy, extremely windy and yes it was cold. But it was low tide so then I have to go to the beach!

Just a nice day for a photowalk at the beach, then I discover this scene, where the fishermans net was rinsed and hang up to get dried and ready for a new morning.
