St Augustine Catholic Church dates back to 1841 and was designed by J.N.B. de Pouilly. It is the oldest African-American Catholic parish in the United States. Unfortunately for some reason it is not on the National Register.

We also met their priest Rev. Quentin E. Moody and the church secretary led us on a personal tour of the sanctuary. I wish we had been able to stay until Sunday and hear his homily and go to Mass.

On friday night the big thing to do is go to the fish fry in Oistins. It's basically a whole bunch of shacks selling fish, as well as a sort of street festival. Music, dancing, drinks. Alot of the Bajans go there, so the makeup is maybe 20% tourist and 80% locals.

I’m a sucker for carnival lights.
It's a Friday during lent, and fish are not actually animals, so all of the Catholic churches are doing fish fries. Stef was working at the church near her house, so I drove down to visit her and also eat some delicious fishes.
