I don't get the opportunity to do many portraits, but I really liked how this one, taken candidly at our Easter party, came out.
I hope everyone had a nice Easter!!

I do not remember what the Conrail train designation was for this train, possibly NHWS (New Haven to West Springfield), but here is its triumphant arrival at Hartford yard, which had to have meant some breaking of the speed limit for us to get here to Sanford Street, which is about the midpoint of Hartford yard, complete with crossovers. The train remains on the mainline, so if it is going to drop off or pick up cars at Fishfry St, it will be doing so quickly. Freights spending time at Hartford yard usually got off onto Track 6, the first set of rails to the left of the main. Conrail was already starting to move traffic off the Hartford line, sending trains over the Maybrook line, from New Haven to Selkirk. This also explains why the use of the RS3m's, for this train, since the bigger motive power was now on the Maybrook line. Hartford, CT April 1978
Delicious fish and chips served at the Shepherd and Flock pub (a pub that is actually sited in the middle of a huge roundabout) in Farnham, Surrey, England. For the purists, yes, I know mushy peas are arguably more traditional - but this was beautifully cooked!

It was rare that a road train went "inside " the yard on the running tracks that passed behind the engine house and along the former hump .This photo was taken just east of Fishfry street ,and the temp block station known as FRY .where the running tracks joined the westbound (compass north ) mainline to Springfield.

Historic St. Ann Church was dedicated March 15, 1896, on the southeast corner of Rosemary and Datura Streets. In 1902, it was moved to its current location which was donated by Henry M. Flagler and served the Catholic Community until 1913. When the new church was dedicated, the old church was then used as the forerunner of St. Ann School which was built in 1925. St. Ann Church is the oldest Catholic Church and parish in the Diocese of Palm Beach. It was developed by the Fathers of the Society of Jesus.
St. Ann’s has several programs that serve the community. The church has an outreach center that helps homeless men and women by giving them breakfast and lunch, housing assistance, healthcare services, and job support assistance. They also have a food pantry, a substance abuse ministry, and a hospital ministry.
The place of worship offers many interesting events for its parishioners. Fish fries, book readings, Soup and the Sunday Scriptures, and retreats are frequent occurrences. A family mass, which is targeted at the younger generation, is celebrated on the first Sunday of each mon

This historic early 20th Century Arts and Crafts-style house has exposed rafter ends at the roof eaves and a relatively simple exterior. The house has been modified with replacement vinyl windows, an addition over the porch, and vinyl siding.
Furthermore, the second-floor addition over the porch was probably originally a balcony.

Twilight starting to set in, and with a slower shutter speed comes a little blurriness. If there were any dropoffs or pickups, the transfer would occur way up at the north end of the yard (Fishfry St). So, these guys still had much of the yard to traverse. Hartford, CT June 1978
