Fish and chips, a match made in heaven or ... a heart attack on a plate!

A couple of improvised night shots, taken on the way home from visiting dad, as I was exiting the railway station at Haymarket.
I sat the camera on a handy, short post that housed the button for the pedestrian crossing to steady it for a longer shot, then pointed it towards these brightly-lit restaurants with their vibrant blue and yellow colours and signs standing in contrast to the city night around them.
Fish and chips isn't so much a local speciality rather something that the whole country loves.

I am so glad to be able to travel again. Doc and I made a small getaway to our favorite restaurant for their halibut and chips. The halibut was perfectly fried and tasted like it was just pulled from the icy seas that surround our beautiful state. Be sure and try it, if you ever find yourself in Alaska.

The Maltsters Arms is an excellent pub, and ideally placed for my lunch stop, being two third of the way round, and the return to Henley being a daily level stretch along the Hermes Valley.
I had fish and chips and a pint of cider form lunch, well it was Good Friday!

I can't imagine how disgusting a deep fried battered chocolate bar is because I would never go anywhere near one. Haggis, however, is delicious when served with 'neaps' and 'tatties', when it is battered and deep friend I would avoid it though, dry and nasty in that instance. Apparently Justin Bieber wanted deep fried haggis. Enjoy!
People travel from miles around to sample the fish and chips at Hawes. I had the deep fried Wensleydale cheese. Actually tastes better than it sounds.
All You Can Eat Fish n Chips at C Lovers (get it? haha) in West Van. I had 10 pieces of fish and then felt like throwing up... but I was only 5 away from their record! :( Must go back...

It's the same reaction I get from a cat, a dog, or a child when they're caught acting badly. In this case, a gull took it upon himself to liberate a plate of leftover cod and chips. The gull's mum taught it well....always clean your plate!
