heller's barracuda

This tank contains a whole lot of coy fish. I don't know how they got there (I asked at the ranger's station - if they knew, they weren't telling). It's a pretty interesting thing to find in the desert.

We stopped by the Maui Ocean Center in Ma'alaea and enjoyed our visit. It was nice to get some great fish photos without even having to get wet! This is a superb facility and they have a nice array of displays and fish. Well worth a visit.

Unfortunate wee fellow found in my pond.

Fish in a pool in Laughlin. They loved to be fed and anytime someone stood near the wall they fought for the food

These are sample catch of the fishermen at the coast of Murudeshwar. There are many families here who solely depend on fishing for their livelyhood.

A new addition to the household - Omar the black fantail.

This was taken while walking/getting lost on the way to Mother Teresa's house. I really like the blurring with just the fish in the bottom center in focus.

Glassware is made on the island, and these fish were a colourful selection I found on a stall at the street festival in Perfugas. Ref: D363-043

D'Lagoon. Perhentian Islands, Malaysia. Taken in August 2013.

One of the few fish who would stay still long enough for me to snap a pic.

I didn't know they got so colorful. Temptation to puff it up: high.

Kowloon, Hong Kong, Fish market

This is a racoon fish at Hanauma bay on Oaho. Shot with a powershot D10. I had to sharpen it cause it was a little blurry. Next time we go there we will have to get there a little earlier cause it definitely got murkier as the day went on. You could still see the fish fine but makes photos a little tougher!

Some huge fish at the National Zoo in the Amazonia exhibit. I was excited to see piranha but was saddened to learn they are more or less hyenas of the Amazon and not nearly as bloodthirsty as Hollywood would lead us to beleive. It does make sense, as the exhibit raised an interesting point: if the piranha were so ravenous, wouldn't the river just be empty of everything save a couple hungry piranha?

Here is a metal fish that is embedded into the wooden staithes along the River Hull.

This is part of the Hull Fish Trail which gives a sort of guided tour of the town. Just follow the fish!

Spring afternoon on the Fish River, Tarana Valley, NSW. (d)
