A large team of women were employed to gut the fish ready for packing/freezing/sale. Back in the days when Grimsby had a huge trawler fleet.
One of my goldfish, Nemo the fantail. He got his name because of a half-missing fin. Most of my fish are named after guitarists. I would post pictures of them all, but they are damn hard to photograph.

Taken in a window of a shop at St.Andrews on the way home from the Isle Of May to see the Puffins. Never even looked at the image before but had a wee play on elements. Can't wait for a break in this weather.
On the road to Arugam Bay we stopped to get a drink of coconut milk, some banans and watermelon. This man was cutting up fish by the roadside for his customers taking the fish straight out of a box of ice dripping off the back of his motorbike. He was shy but happy to pose for the tourists!
If you have common sense, please sign the www.fishfight.net campaign to help bring about the end of the EU laws that force half of all fish caught to be thrown back into the sea dead!
