First aid from NZ arriving at the Whitegrass airport on Tanna Island.
On Friday March 13th Cyclone Pam ravaged the island nation of Vanuatu destroying and damaging homes far and wide. Thousands have lost their homes and been left with no shelter and no access to clean water or food.

Cadets from Protecteur division were onboard the vessel and had a first aid exercise using all the skills they learned during their first aid training. I put my life in their hands!

13th Annual Darrell Cronin Memorial First Aid Competition
Master Warrant Officer Greg Smit created the competition in 2001 in memory of Darrell Cronin and Jean Roy, two Search and Rescue Technicians that gave their lives while completing a medical mission in 1998. It is now conducted each year at 9 Wing Gander to increase cadet knowledge of First Aid, provide an opportunity for critiquing their skills, and to promote good safety habits during the performance of First Aid procedures

Youth from across Newfoundland and Labrador who are members of the Canadian Cadet Program, gathered in Gander over the weekend to participate in the 15th Annual Darrel Cronin Memorial First Aid Competition at 9 Wing Gander.
Participants had the opportunity to apply their practical first aid skills and teamwork skills in mock scenarios which were evaluated by members of 103 Search and Rescue Squadron and the Canadian Coast Guard. Cadets also wrote a first aid exam to test their overall knowledge in the field. The MCpl Darrell Cronin Memorial Trophy for the top overall team was presented to three cadets from 184 Curling Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps located in Corner Brook, N.L.

12 Red Cross first aid volunteers provided emergency medical response, treatment, and on-site transport at the Dexter-Ann Arbor Run today. Medical care was coordinated between several agencies. Huron Valley Ambulance (HVA), UM Emergency Medicine, and MedSport all played critical roles in the health and safety of the participants. Congratulations to the runners and thanks to our volunteer medical staff!

Tresaith is set in a small sheltered sandy bay named after the River Saith which cascades as a waterfall over the cliffs to the beach. The beach is very popular with families during the summer offering safe swimming and rock pools. The second beach is accessed by crossing below the waterfall, take care to watch the tides. There are public toilets near the beach, with wheelchair access. There is also a café, a first aid post, a shop and The Ship Inn Pub providing lots of tables inside and out, for meals overlooking the beach. The beach has a slipway and is a popular sailing destination. There is limited car parking with some spaces for cars displaying disabled stickers
Tresaith Beach is between Aberporth and Penbryn. The coast is part of the Ceredigion Coast Path and the stretches either side of Tresaith offer short walks with fantastic views across Cardigan Bay and the opportunity to spot dolphins and seals in the bay.
