Now, I know this doesn't matter one iota but I wanted to note that with the latest Flickr update I lost 50K views of my photos. I only really know this because I wasn't too far off 2 million views which I thought I might actually celebrate cause you know, I don't celebrate enough. So bit sad to see I've had a little set back. How can it lose 50K views? What else has it lost?
It's the end of the world, I have decided to join the clone army: this is my 1st post with a mesh head! I tried to resist as much as I could as 1) I worked on my face (my beau-ti-ful face <3 ) for almost 10 years and 2) even if we can change the mesh heads a tiny bit, let's face it, we all look like we come from the same village where everybody is related but we all deny it and don't want to talk about it.

What can you do when surf is up on a workday?
After taking a photo of the hearse I walked past the owner, he offered me a ride. I said hell no, at least not today, maybe sometime in the distant future.
ODC has first world problems

7 Days of Shooting –
Some of us stay in our favourite places and some of us travel to their favourite places but where is your favourite place? It could be as simple as taking a photo of that favourite spot that we walk to or drive to on a regular basis ~ show us your favourite place!
down by the water is always my favourite place

Just couldn't decide which camera to use today, what a huge dilemma for me!!!!
Even Weird Al has this problem...this is a video he made about First World Problems: www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwvlbJ0h35A
14 shot pano of my house stitched together in Hugin. I love this place. Living on the lake is great. The big trees in my backyard are awesome! The small town is nice, and I prefer that over a big city. The lack of light pollution is a bonus for night photography. And the house itself is awesome too. I put a lot of work into building the addition and the garage, as did the rest of my family. My parents have been talking about moving, because they can't afford it, and it kills me to hear that. I'm going to have to get rich real quick, so I can call this place home for the rest of my life. And that my friends, is my first world problem! Next on the list is the fact that I can't eat a pound of bacon covered in maple syrup without feeling sick. Not fair!!!
This bottle of juice appears to have at least half of the juice within but makes no difference to whomever threw it down and kept walking ... someone else will pick up their litter!!

Firstly, THAT'S NOT ME, pink socks aren't my style!
Dear Flickr friends, do any of you have socks like that?
Probably about 160km and about 3310m elevation gain. The hike itself wasn’t too rough as it was broken down over a period of time with acclimatization days (ie rest days) inbetween but what I found challenging was probably how the indoor room temperatures were also at a ridiculously low -15C and there isn’t heating in the room haha. #firstworldproblems
Some more from this day :)
Also made a really nice polaroid with my new SLR680 but i still havent got a flatbed scanner to show it to you...too poor to live this hobby to the fullest <.< #firstworldproblems :D
I probably won't be finished with these Paris photos until the end of summer. There are so many of them with little time to process through them all. #firstworldproblems

Pink Floyd’s song may have been an indictment of the British public school system in the 1970’s, but this brick is a direct result of how the pandemic effected impoverished youth stuck at home for the better part of two years due to the pandemic. Bored, watching TikTok antics and looking for some excitement and perhaps an outlet to express their rage. And our car was just one of two, on our street, to bare the brunt of that on one night earlier this week.
can't use my planner because it's too pretty #firstworldproblems
the travel-themed post-its that i bought to go with it are also sitting untouched, still wrapped in plastic.
The loaf of sourdough bread I bought is too big for my toaster so a little bit sticks out

First World Problems - which means: the frivolous concerns of privileged persons living in overdeveloped nations.
Looking in on a scene from the first world:
-- While I was driving my youngest daughter home the other day she looked over at me and asked, are you crying mommy? I thought my sunglasses were hiding it. Yes, I guess I am crying, a little. One of mommy's favorite bands, R.E.M., has broken up. They're playing on the radio right now...aren't they so, so good darling? Yes mommy, they are very good. That's my girl and they're even better in concert. But you'll never get to experience that, you poor girl.
-- Others were not so appreciative of the severity of the situation. I was sitting glumly at dinner until my husband asked, what's wrong? Sigh, R.E.M. that's what wrong. Oh big deal, says he, they are probably going to have a big comeback tour next week and make millions, get over it. Get over it? R.E.M. has held a large place in the sound track of my life for 30 years! They are not going to have a comeback to make millions, they're not like that. They don't care about money!
-- I made this image as an ode to R.E.M. and the socially conscious messages that permeated their songs and made some of us think. Alright, sure, some songs were just about love and roller coasters but they're only human...and maybe they do care about money, but just a little, I'm sure.
-- I hope this image speaks louder than my dramatization, it holds the true and serious message.

As I arrived into the medieval old town of the capital of Lithuania, the sun had just set and the blue glow of twilight was mixing smoothly with the street lights and illuminated Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn, I checked directions to my Airbnb and thought to myself... 3G sucks in Vilnius #firstworldproblems #itraveltoomuch
Two glorious days in a row, so I went for a long run. I got mad because I thought my headphones died at the turnaround point, but apparently I managed to turn airplane mode on with my thigh and shut off the Bluetooth. Didn't even think to check that.

(Fridge is a vintage 90's Barbie piece my hubby found in a lot on EBay, including much of the food pictured as well!) Other pieces are a mixture of MegaHouse and re-ment.

Let this be a lesson: don't use red or purple Sharpie to mark your cabs -- especially if you are going to change your mind later. A few ago, I started marking out my slabs in red Sharpie, so that the outlines would be easier to see when I was grinding. The problem is that red ink, for some reason, penetrates deep into the stone -- more than 3mm, sometimes. When is fine, if you have a thick slab and you don't change your mind, because the marks will be cut away as you dome. If you change your mind, you're screwed though.
This piece, prior to being cabbed was already soaked in acetone, to liitle effect. Which is odd, because in the lab, red Sharpie is a problem because it has no resistance whatever to any solvent... even 50% alcohol, so I figured that it would be easy. Wrong.
I guess I'll try soaking it again. I'm not confident that it'll work, because in the 6 years this piece sat, the ink probably set, if anything. If it doesn't work, I guess I have a choice: nastier solvents, or grinding through the ink. Luckily, I have a thick slab, but I hate to lose the little druzy/fortification spot.
This probably does not exactly qualify as a wabi-sabi element. Other than that, I love it.
Sigh. First World problems.

Our Rugs 'for a life time' turn 36 years. Look very used, but still okay.
May be I stretched the theme a bit.
I was made giddy with excitement to find out about Instagram being released for Android this week (thanks Disco).
Then I found this article and immediately despaired for the future of mankind:
iPhone users: Android is ruining our Instagram club.
When the dolphins take over we'll only have ourselves to blame. What a deluded species we are. First world problems indeed.
NOTE: I should point that it's not specifically the article that caused this rant but the overall attitude of people to make a big deal out of nothing. The article was what sent my brain for a ride on this train of thought. I'm not personally fussed that a few people decided to announce themselves as elitist simpletons by judging others they've never met by the phone in their pocket.
