You know that old saying that you cannot rush art; well same applies to action shots. When doing water drop shots you better get everything in order before you start. I read some how to's and watch plenty of videos; thinking okay I have the idea.. let's go. The first time I guess is always trial and error. First do NOT use a pie pan like I did; not only is it too small, I didn't have the drop centered and water to the brim, Instead go for a glass dish.Second, use a macro or long lense. I used my standard 3.5-50mm but it did not get close enough ( I knew better). I did get some okay shots but they are flat and not detailed or zoomable. I do like the ripples however again, not detailed enough. I am going to try this again tomorrow (bangs head).

Armor-Head Dragon CP by me.

Created with Inkscape and thanks to J. Ku's tutorial.

(I expected a series and I was disappointed)

But then, I decided to learn Inkscape for myself and created my very first crease pattern!! This was partially inspired by Riccardo Foschi's way of creating crease patterns and uploading it (because I ain't got no time for drawing freehandedly).

This is so far one of my biggest achievements in 2017 and I stand by it in every way.

I could make diagrams soon, if i'm not busy.

Feel free to fold it!

November 3, 2020 - After work tonight, I went to Long Beach Creamery for my very first time, to claim my Free Election Day Ice Cream with the I Voted Sticker! Thank you so much for the Free Ice Cream, Long Beach Creamery!

for sure the first time I saw a dog-driver, could be also it's first ride, and maybe the first dog to have a motorbike accident later on :)

Again a studio-shoot of Cassandra, isn't she wonderful ?

Our first attempt at using a rotisserie, and we weren't disappointed. I prepared and smeared a blend of rosemary, thyme, poultry seasoning and celery salt all over the outside of the chicken and large garlic pieces in the cavity...........it was very tasteful. We were rather happy with the end result.

Had a great time, no broken bones (knock on wood)

It's seriously hard to believe, but Daisy first came to me for help unleashing her inner being over six years ago...around the end of 2018. And this particular photo was taken about six months later...after some pretty intensive (but mostly homebound) training and practice. Daisy had only recently become reasonably proficient with makeup (not as good as she is now of course, but decently so.) and we had only been out a couple of times...and only at my insistence.

But one fine day, smack in the middle of the workweek (and to my great surprise), Daisy came home from work early while I was out, got herself ready all on her own, and met me at the door like this when I returned, saying she was going to take me out to dinner. You could have knocked me over with a feather! 😲

Well it's been a while, but as I recall it was a little bumpy. As usual for those days, we had to wait until the street was clear before she would consent to leave, and I distinctly remember her hands shaking as she held the menu at the restaurant. (Damned if I can remember where we ate, though.🤔)

Nevertheless, she was able to go through with it and return unscathed. And I suspect this was a major turning point for her. And though she was a nervous wreck from beginning to end, it was probably the first time she really began to believe in herself. And maybe the first time she finally put away any thoughts of backing out. Which is probably fortunate for her, because this was also the approximate time I decided I wasn't going to ALLOW her to back out. Good times, eh? 😜

Anyway, I just happened to run across this oldie, and decided to repost it for those who weren't around the first time. 💗

Sorry for my absence lately, but Daisy and I were both totally preoccupied over the Easter weekend with some major gardening projects, as well as a very nice Easter dinner with her Mom and sister. All is well, and I expect I will have some new stuff very soon. Later! 💖💖💖

Fished the salmon river today with my boss and his son in law Patrick. Snow to rain, then rain and wind. Raw. We hooked fish, couldn't keep them on.

This is Patrick with his first ever Steelhead. Did a great job fighting it. Was so excited, couldn't look at the right camera.
