ZAHS advanced band performs at Grandberry Mall
Zama American High School’s advanced band played for the first time in a local foreign national concert venue May 22 at Grandberry Mall.
Kevin Hanson, Zama American School band teacher, said he has been here nine years and they have been unable to find a venue off-base.
“For this performance opportunity, we had to send a video of the band to be asked/accepted to play,” said Hanson.
The symphonic band of 41 students played a variety of music to include some Disney movie themed music, Batman’s theme song and the Mission Impossible movie theme song.
Hanson said the mall manager was watching the crowd and everyone seemed to enjoy it.
“We were invited to come back anytime,” said Hanson.

I used to love putt-putt golf, but never really had a desire to play "real" golf. I thought "real" golf was only on a regulation 18-hole course with impatient people behind you. I learned about this par 3 course near me and gave it a try. Played 9 holes and it only took an hour or so. Enjoyed it.
the two bottom pieces i threw myself, the larger pot on the top our teacher threw and gave to us to practice trimming the bottom of the bowl. i went too deep and turned it into a plant pot. glazed all three myself as well :) my first pottery pieces. proud of myself.
Here's the living room looking out to the front yard. Clearly this is where we are putting all our empty boxes, haha. They will get cleared out soon enough. Three huge windows here + built in bookcases. Love it!
This is one of my first times learning how to use industry cameras!

These lights actually hang on my bed and are usually on 24/7. I'm a huge Christmas dork and love to have them on constantly.
This was my first time using studio lighting. It worked OK but I definitely know I need to practice.

you can see the trim job on the bottom of the plant pot in this picture. also i think it got too dry when i was trimming it, hence the patterned "chatterly" something or other texture on the bottom. kinda neat. hard to do the colors justice in pictures.
October 12, 2023 - Neon Museum's Photographers' Night in Las Vegas, NV. This was my first time ever visiting this place.
We have this great built in hutch in the kitchen. Finally, a place to put my cookbooks, tea pots, wine glasses, and we even put in some of our basic dishes on that second shelf.
