When my friends Lingam and Farouk went into my car yesterday, Lingam asked what these strange looking 'stuff' strewn all over the back seat were and Farouk said, "Alessi! This is so Brien!"
I cannot resist these playful spice jars from Alessi! They are designed by one of my favorite Alessi designers, Stefano Giovanonni (along with the likes of Michael Graves, Philippe Stark, Joanna Lyle, King-Kong and Rumiko Takeda). He (Stefano) designed the Sugar Castor in shapes of rotund aliens that I like so much among other things like his cool kettle, pots and pans. His designs are basically playful and colorful!
Unfortunately, these spice jars are out of production and are hard to find. I managed to get the set with the red tops though, and hope to get the green top set from eBay.

Following a tradition of nearly 40 years set by Boeing 737, 747 Jumbo and the world’s largest passenger aircraft Airbus A380, Lufthansa is now the first airline to present the most state-of-the-art passenger plane in the world in Hungary.

I have not previously seen these green cactus flowers. We found a whole bunch of them in this area but I liked the natural grouping of these blossoms best.

Miss Janie gave Audrey a pair of gloves just like hers to wear during the exam. This pleased the little miss, as did pretty much everything else about her visit. Great job to all the folks at Dr. Mehta's office! :-)
Janie also gave Audrey a mask to take home, and according to Dave, pretty much the first thing she did when she got to the house was put on the mask and examine the teeth of her stuffed animals.
Flan is so delicious, and really easy to make. I bought a box mix before I realized how I could just use the evaporated and condensed milk cans I already stored in my cabinet.
But I think going the boxed mix route is cheaper (and faster to make). It costs $1. The evaporated and condensed milk cans cost about $1 each (so $2). However, I think the box mix yields less food.
The first time I ever put my feet in the ocean. It think it was in May, just outside of Boston. (Yeah, I was crazy but I had to do it.) I was 16 and I had never seen the ocean before. My father hated traveling and refused to take us anywhere that wasn't within an hour of Quebec City. I went to Boston for a week on a student exchange program.
No sexy bikini for me, even then.
