This is the site of Boundary Monument 0, at the middle point of the trans peninsular line. It marks the southwest corner of the state of Delaware. In the 1980s, a grillwork was installed to protect the stone.

The Old State House, in Dover, Delaware, has been refurbished and re-opened on Delaware Day (December 7) in 2007. This was the first permanent Capitol of the State of Delaware, the first to ratify the US Constitution.

Finding peace in southern Delaware at Fenwick Island

A museum dedicated to the history of Lewes, Delaware (The First Town in the First State). Local legend posits that this house, or one on this site, was stuck by a canonball when the British shelled Lewes during the war of 1812. A (replica?) canonball is lodged in the brick foundation on the other side of the house from this spot.

Buildings on the 400 block of Main Street, Axtell, Nebraska. The only building that appears occupied is the Farmers and Merchants Bank on the corner, which since this picture was taken has become a branch of Firststate Bank.
