A couple inches of snow have fallen here this evening for the first time this winter - on February 2nd! It didn't take the kids long to get outside. It also gave me a chance to try out my new Nikon SB-600 flash and Sto-Fen OM-600 diffuser.

My babies couldn't wait to go stomping about in the 1/4 of white stuff we got. They couldn't understand why they couldn't make a snowman. Geez... They grow up so fast... They just turned 4 ;___;
Several years ago my husband and I went back to VT, my home state, at the end of Sept. It had snowed the night before, a big flakes, wet snow. As we drove up Lincoln mountain the colors of the fall leaves, along with the snow, was breathtaking. There were also green leaves on the trees. I remarked that it was wonderful seeing VT in three seasons on the same day. In playing with this piece, I imagined I had wandered into an old barn there and was looking out the dirty dusty windows at the color and snow falling. Wet into wet and then painted dry, Arches 140.

this from christmas eve in houston 2004. it was the first time nina had ever seen snow. i don't have any pics of cody in the snow b/c he was too cold and kept running back inside before i sould snap one.
this was quite an experience for us down here. when it started (after dark... not sure exactly what time) there were kids running around and playing. but the funny thing was that around 10:00 i went back out and all the kids had gone in, but the adults were out playing. "i've never seen snow..." was echoing off the houses.
it was a lot of fun.

We had our first spit of snow today. Suzy ran to the front yard with Heffy and her camera. I took the non posing dogs (City and Bessie) to the backyard.
They were going bananas. The snow ended in 5 minutes and was all gone in 15.
