Here is the finished gear cake. Nephew calls it his "UPWDUP cake" because "UPWDUP" is something that he and his school friends say. What it means is totally beyond me, but it is very important to him.

we move in this weekend. this is our first (own) home. it's in holyoke, a historic town in western massachusetts, which thrived on the mill industry and "founded" volleyball. it was down on it sluck for a while, but it's up and coming now. this house was built in 1900. we're totally in lvoe with it!

Upon entering... this was an sans-permit "improvement" to the house. Way too much storage (all empty)... makes room feel even tinier. (it's only about 3.5 feet wide)

Our bedroom. That headboard was here when we arrived. I am not responsible for purchasing this fabulous example of 20th-Century Plastic Baroque design.

Here it is, 4309 Josephine. According to my mom, the pink stucco hasn't changed a bit. The only new feature are the bars on the windows.

My second photo for the day but it had to be done - after several days of negotiations, today our offer was accepted!

We are thrilled, thrilled, thrilled: we absolutely love living here so knowing that this will be Our Home very soon is just such exciting news. (Those that don't know, we rent the house and discovered it was going on the market so frantically got a mortgage agreement in principal etc.)
