One of our local ambulance depots. At night they mostly have this blue/violet lighting on. I've been driving by many times without a suitable camera for making this shot. So I finally decided/thought of doing the shot :)
There are shots with all 4 ambulances there but they turned the normal lighting on - so another day.
The combination of sand and clouds always works so well in my eyes, I can't help but shoot a few......:)
NURSE PADDY: "That's very good, Matron Daisy-Maud! Just finish the bandaging of Jago's paw by affixing it with a clip."
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "Yes Nurse Paddy!"
NURSE PADDY: "I am very impressed with your nursing skills, Matron Daisy-Maud!"
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "Oh thank you Nurse Paddy!"
NURSE PADDY: "You are every bit as good as Junior Nurse Scout."
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: *Gasps and puts paws to mouth.* "Oh you mustn't tell Scout that, or he will be jealous, Nurse Paddy!"
NURSE PADDY: "Yes! You are quite right, Matron Daisy-Maud! We shall keep mum!" *Puts paw to mouth in a sign of silence.*
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "Now what, Nurse Paddy?"
NURSE PADDY: "Well, now we ask the patient how his paw feels, Matron Daisy-Maud."
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "Very good Nurse Paddy!" *Turns attention to Jago who has his right paw bandaged.* "How does you paw feel now, Jago?"
JAGO: "It feels fine, Daisy-Maud."
NURSE PADDY: "Ahem!" *Clears throat.* "Today that is Matron Daisy-Maud, Jago, and I am Nurse Paddy. You are playing the patient, Jago, so you can be.. Jago."
JAGO: *Gasps and puts paw to mouth.* "Oh sorry Paddy... err, I mean, Nurse Paddy!" *Turns attention to Matron Daisy-Maud.* "It feels fine Matron Daisy-Maud."
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "Oh that's good, Jago! I am pleased." *Claps paws in delight.*
JAGO: "But my paw felt fine before you bandaged it. I was quite happy just sitting here on the lawn enjoying a nice cup of tea and reading All About Cinderella, when you two launched upon me with your bandages."
NURSE PADDY: "Well of course we know that Jago! But Matron Daisy-Maud and I have to get in lots of practice bandaging paws!"
JAGO: "But why, Paddy, err... I mean, Nurse Paddy?"
NURSE PADDY: "Well, Scout and Rosie have gone to the magical portal to visit Peter at Mummy Marian's house."
JAGO: "But what does that have to do with bandaging my paw, Paddy, err... Nurse Paddy?"
NURSE PADDY: "Well you see, Peter is going to teach Scout and Rosie and our friends Luis, Bärbel and Peter's niece Sweety how to clog dance. And mijn beste vriend Oleg thinks that because none of them have even worn clogs before, that they might get sore paws."
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "So Nurse Paddy and I need to get in as much practice bandaging paws as we can, Jago!"
NURSE PADDY: "Thinking of which, Matron Daisy-Maud, it's my turn to bandage Jago's left paw!"
JAGO: "My left paw?" *Alarmed.*
MATRON DAISY-MAUD: "Practice makes perfect, Jago." *Smiles sweetly.*
My bears Paddy and Scout have made very good friends with two bears in Holland called Peter and Oleg (www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558...) and their Mummy Marian Kloon (on and off). eter and Scout are very similar and have become best friends. Peter also loves Rosie and she loves him, so they have become prince and princess to one another. Peter has invited Scout and Rosie to clog dance with him. You can see him racing on his tricycle with the clogs to meet Scout, Rosie, Luis, Bärbel and his niece Sweety at the magic portal here or in the first comment below. Oleg has recommended that Peter talk to Paddy about borrowing his first aid kit, since theirs is empty, but Paddy is going one better and as Nurse Paddy is training up Daisy-Maud to become Matron Daisy-Maud, so that he and she can administer first aid to paws sore and blistered by the clogs, which neither Scout, Rosie, Luis, Bärbel nor Sweety have ever worn before! I think their skills may be needed, and Jago plays an excellent patient.
This beautiful Willow Pattern nursery tea set was made in England by the Shell China Company in the 1920s. It features four cups and saucers as well as a tea pot, coffee pot, milk jug and sugar bowl. Each piece is gilt edged and decorated with the Willow Pattern in blue, just like the life-size equivalent. It has two sister sets: a 1920s Shell China Company nursery rhyme tea set that I was given as a gift some years ago by a close friend who knows I collect nursery ware and children’s tea sets and a faerie tale set from the 1930s Shell China Company faerie tale tea set that I have built up from various sellers over time.
Prior to being set up by Nurse Paddy and Matron Daisy-Maud, Jago had been reading from “All About Cinderella” from the “All About Series” published by Cupples and Leon Company, New York in 1930. The classic faerie tale was retold and illustrated by John B. Gruelle, who is perhaps best known and loved for his creation of of Raggedy-Ann and Raggedy-Andy.
My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Jago was a gift from a dear friend in England. He is made of English mohair with suede paw pads and glass eyes. He is a gentle bear, kind and patient who carries an air of calm about him. He is already fitting in with everyone else very nicely.
Daisy-Maud is Jago's little sister and was made by the same friend in England who made him. She is made of German mohair with floral fabric cotton paw pads that match her pretty sunhat, and glass eyes. A sweet and loving little girl bear, she is happy to be reunited with her big brother, Jago, and enjoys being spoiled by her new Daddy.

In the aftermath of the radioactive beverages, troopers line up for first aid as the staff scientist tries to figure out what they drank.
Seeking inspiration for a recent group challenge of 'red and white' I found a few French novels with covers in those colours. Then there was a First Aid book, no use to me who throws a wobbly at the sight of blood; Monsieur Mackintosh tells the story of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife visiting the south of France towards the end of his life; and it's probably time again to dip into David Busch's guide to the Sony A6000.

I spotted this structure in the village of Slaidburn and was intrigued as to its purpose. The sign says 'St John Ambulance'. After asking around the answer is that it is a St John’s Ambulance box. This once stored first aid equipment including a stretcher. This box was placed there way back by the Clitheroe St John Ambulance - Slaidburn being a very isolated village was one that needed such a facility - it was maintained for many years by the local Division who kept it stocked. Originally it would have had a key in a case attached to the door so it could be unlocked in an emergency. With better access by the Ambulance service and a GP facility in the village it eventually fell into disuse. However the box was considered of significance by local people who took on the responsibility for keeping it in good repair. These boxes which came in several sizes, were once to be found at many locations around the country before emergency services became more mobile.
A rescuer from the Norwegian rescue service (Air Force), is being lowered from a Sea King helicopter, to help 2 boys at 11 years of age, that were stuck in the mountains. The incident took place in the mountains right where I live and the image is captured from my guest room. Luckily they were ok and could soon after this be reunited with their parents.
