The firebug (Pyrrhocoridae) is a common species of the Hemiptera order known throughout Europe. Also called cotton stainers because their red bodies get crushed along with cotton when it is harvested. These stains are difficult to remove.

The Backyard series is a personal project started by Miami based photographer Aaron Ansarov which explores the beauty in color and design of animals found in backyards around the world.

My grammy ~ April 16, 1920 - November 2, 2011. She was 91 years old.

I'll miss her terribly. Every one of us will. My grammy gave me the best advice for having a good marriage and taught me to be the firebug I am today. I'm so fortunate she was mine for 36 years.

I'm grateful Chaisy got to have a great-grammy; Chaisy kept asking for her this weekend and doesn't understand where she's gone. Chaisy will know someday how much Great-Grammy loved her sweet lil' redhead.
