Firebugs, adults and nymph, Pyrrhocoris apterus, subfamily Pyrrhocorinae, family Pyrrhocoridae.
□ Firebugs have been introduced to the United States, where they are called European firebugs. They were first reported in California in 2024, and these photos of a pair of adults and a nymph were taken in 2025. Taken in France a few years back, these bugs were everywhere feeding on Hollyhocks that had gone over.
