These amazingly beautiful vreatures are called firebugs. For some reason they decided they love our garden. For some other reason they cannot live alone, they have to have at least a hundred of their friends around to feel safe.

A firebug crossed my path on my way home from photographing birds. The lens, a Tamron 150-600mm, would not normally be my first choice for this photo model, but it was the only one I had with me. It still gave me a picture of this colorful insect.
