This was an awesome bug that I found in Nicaragua!

The Fire Bugs are back! Noticed them as I took out the bike from the cellar today. They live in a tree trunk next to the cellar door.

The firebug is resistant to frost, maybe that is the reason why it is the first insect I noticed in the spring? Or is it the red color?
