Gemeine Feuerwanze

And here I thought I was out of ideas (Though I will be, after this post)

Ragman: I don't know nearly enough about this guy, but he seems badass. Mummy head, lots of cloth pieces, Statue of Liberty torso.

Trickster: A more classic look: Riddler hair, CMF King torso, Trickster legs.

Captain Atom: Not much to look at, but it felt weird that I didn't have a fig of him around. Ninjago head, Adaptoid torso, Retro Space Guy hips.

KGBeast: I knew I'd find a use for that TTGO Raven head. Painted over the alt face and the mouth on this side, then painted on eyes.

Firebug: His gaudy Deadshot: Bulletproof look circa 2005: Boxing helmet, Onlinesailin(rip) Reverse Flash head, MM Iron man torso, Pizza delivery guy arms, Lifeguard legs that I painted boots on for another thing ages ago.

Javelin: Stolen almost verbatim from HMD. Spider-Man robber head, reversed Trickster torso.

Pretty solid line-up I feel, but let me know what you think!

This bug is often mistaken for the European firebug but is a totally different species with its own pattern of black spots. It is widespread in the UK. This one was photographed in the sand dunes between Ainsdale and Southport.

Sus picaduras provocan manchas en hojas y desecación de la espiga y aparecen espigas arrugadas y deformadas, además el grano sufre una pérdida de peso y las harinas resultantes son de peor calidad por la destrucción del gluten.

Aelia spp.; A. rostrata y A. germari

Little unusual view, because they are usually seen in groups, but maybe this one is just waiting there for friends ;)

The firebug (Pyrrhocoris apterus) is a common insect of the family Pyrrhocoridae, about 1 cm. long. Firebugs generally mate in April and May. Their diet consists primarily of seeds from lime trees and mallows. They can often be found in groups near the base of lime tree trunks, on the sunny side. They can be seen in tandem formation when mating which can take from 12 hours up to 7 days. The long period of copulating is probably used by the males as a form of ejaculate-guarding under high competition with other males.

Samotny "tramwaj" ;) Troszke niecodzienny widok, no ale cóż, może właśnie czeka na kolegów, bądź chwilowo odpoczywa od towarzystwa :)

Kowal bezskrzydły, kowal dwuplamek (Pyrrhocoris apterus) – gatunek pluskwiaka z rodziny kowalowatych, pospolity w Polsce.

In May of 2013 a fire ravaged the 23rd and 24th floors of the Liselotte Salonin Hotel. The cause of the fire was never determined. Twelve people and two poodles died in the conflagration. As the occupants fled to safety on the streets outside the facility a young girl was seen observing the firefighters and quietly repeating "Hail Mary full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus. Holy Mary Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death Amen." She vanished shortly thereafter and has never been identified.

Pyrrhocoridae is a family of insects with more than 300 species world-wide. A common species in parts of Europe is the firebug. They are part of the order Hemiptera which are also known as the 'true bugs'. A few are important crop pests. They are called cotton stainers because their red bodies get crushed along with the cotton they eat when it is harvested, and these stains are difficult to remove. Their feeding mechanism also cuts the fibres and hence affects the growth of the cotton ball. They caused massive problems in the United States during the industrial revolution.

So I came up with this idea where I kinda make my own designs for C-Listers in an attempt to make them look more...badass.

I think these guys turned out quite well. Would you guys want to see more of this in the future?

Pyrrhocore dit gendarme ...

Quick sketch at a warm sunny day in October. Found this bug in a biotope by Bahnstadt-Heidelberg

Two firebugs (Pyrrhocoris apterus) mating - something they either enjoy very much or need serious pointers on effectiveness about from most any other species as these guys can go at it for hours - and sometimes more. I have no idea who decides who has to walk backwards but they actually get around coupled together like this.

I think you can easily find the firebug here. He ran randomly through my picture and now, I mean, he is a nice counterpart to the red on the upper left side.

But also it could be, that I'm only too slow for this world... ;-)

The firebugs love the malva sylvestris.

In the evening they are with many.

Eating?

Looking for a place to spend the night?

Or perhaps playing hide and seek?

It's always a challenge to get 2 pair of eyes in focus in one shot.
