Looks like another shopping expedition for Cwmbran firemen, either Aldi or Lidl. The engine is parked in front of where the gasworks used to be, with its gasometer.

Ahrens-Fox Fire Engine, built in Cincinnati in 1927 and used by the Fort Wayne fire department until 1964. Combined pump, ladder, and hose conveyance in one vehicle, plus carrying personnel. Beautiful vehicle.
At the London Museum of Water & Steam. Taken with my Nikon 1 J5. The frame was from 1880, the steam engine from 1914 and it was used during WWI. Its steam engine could pump 900 gallons (4,000+ litres) of water a minute.
I spotted the old Galway Fire Engine in the Riverside Museum in Glasgow on our recent trip. From an age where men were hardy, fire engines were fire engines, a pump and not much else! The Museum is dedicated to Road Transport of all types - well worth a visit.

An interesting event last night, fire alarm sounded at 7.30pm.
After 5 mins it didn’t turn off so I left the building by the stairs (4th floor up of 5) and met a few residents outside the front of the building.
I waited 15 mins and nobody knew what was happening, we were not informed or contacted by anyone who runs the building. After 20 mins I, and others returned to the apartment and then - approx 30 mins after the alarm sounded the fire service arrived.
No idea what caused it but seemingly a false alarm
