Not sure if I like this or not. I like it!

Burned area along the George Parks Highway, interior Alaska. The highway, the main road between Fairbanks and Anchorage, was closed for a while in midsummer while fire fighters battled the wildfire on both sides of the highway.

This toasted building is at exit 163 on Interstate 5 in the small community of Curtin, Oregon. Traveling south on I-5, you can see it to your right from the overpass you're traveling on. I was really thinking this was an old go-cart attraction since across the roadway is a trashed Go-Karts pylon sign. I also looked online for information about this place or the fire. Nothing. But when I did a word search for "Curtin, Oregon," I found these links: www.flickr.com/photos/60348236@N07/52436202079/in/photoli... and www.flickr.com/photos/photo-maniac-spady/51729608509/in/p....
The first link indicates that the fire at this place—which was probably a cafe or perhaps a residential duplex—occured sometime between September 20, 2022 and the date I took this picture, July 8, 2023.
Three images each two stops apart merged in Aurora HDR 2022 and polished up in Photoshop CC.

Another great textured and weathered door, this looks like it has been exposed to fire at some point.
This siding at Skipton usually held a loco in the 1980s, ranging from 08 shunters, Class 25s, or more usually, a Class 31 awaiting its next turn of duty. On this occasion it holds 31123 which has apparently suffered a fairly major fire. Although the photo was taken (by me) on the 16th May 1987, the loco wasn't withdrawn until 1992, so it was obviously repaired at some point after this.

Here's another one of London Transport's short lived fleet of late build DMSs - this one only ran a few years before a major fire sent it for scrap.

During the recent UK heatwave, temperatures reached a record breaking 40.3°c not far from where I am in England. During the hottest two days of the intense heat, many wildfires broke out - just as they did over western Europe and Greece during the same week. I just happened to be passing a fire that had not long broken out near to the town of Brigg. The wind was blowing the flames from one field and here we see a fireman assessing the situation in the neighbouring field - it's not looking good....
A stock trolley full of used packaging materials was parked here, looks like previous stuff has been torched.

These three palm trees were seriously fire damaged, when the mobile home on the property exploded.
It was 107°F (42°C) today in Phoenix. I'm thinking about the heat.
In recent years, wildfires have devastated large areas of Mesa Verde National Monument. I believe that the major cliff dwellings were untouched. Fill flash with an SB-800, on camera (or maybe on a synch extension cable).
I recently reprocessed this small series of fire-damaged trees for printing. If you want to see more, scroll down to the end of my Mesa Verde album.

Much though I dislike posting something with no real information, it is sometimes a way of finding out what I need to know.
This bus - actually about 50% of a bus - was on a low loader at Barton Park (Eastleigh) with obvious signs of fire damage around the engine compartment. I could not determine any previous identity for the vehicle nor deduce it from the remaining markings. I don't know where or when the fire occurred and I could not, in the course of a necessarily short visit, be sure whether the bus was being loaded or unloaded. Apart from that, (as they say).
Edit - 17 July 2019
Thanks to David Smith, I now know this was Oxford Bus ADL Enviro 400H 307/HG11OXF and, based on an earlier photograph by David, I can deduce that it was being removed from Barton Park when I saw it.

Mopping up operation.
Quick action by Fire & Rescue NSW Station 248 Camden prevented a fire from reaching its full potential in Spring Farm on 12/11/2019 Tuesday afternoon.
Severe damage was caused to a wooden fence line that borders the Spring Farm park land and Camden Bypass.
A nearby house whilst was threatened by fire escaped damage due entirely to the swift actions of fire fighters.
In the mopping up stages of the operation a fire fighter sprays water on the fires remnants.

I took these photos on the morning of September 19th of some of the damage from the San Bruno PG&E pipeline explosion. As of this morning, most of the disaster area is still heavily guarded by various law enforcement agencies.
More from wikipedia.
The 2010 San Bruno pipeline explosion occurred at 6:11 p.m. PDT on September 9, 2010, in San Bruno, California, when a 30 inch steel natural gas pipeline owned by Pacific Gas & Electric exploded in flames.
The loud roar and shaking led some residents of the area, first responders, and news media to initially believe that it was an earthquake or that a large airplane from nearby San Francisco International Airport had crashed. It took crews nearly an hour to determine it was a gas pipeline explosion.[
Reports about the number of deaths are conflicting. According to the San Bruno chief of police seven were dead and six were missing as of Saturday September 11, but the coroner's office questioned the information from the police department, stating only four deaths were confirmed. Many were hospitalized with injuries. 37 homes were destroyed by the blaze, with about 8 badly damaged. USGS registered the explosion and resulting shock wave as a magnitude 1.1 earthquake. Eye witnesses reported the initial blast "had a wall of fire more than 1000 feet high".
There was one building that had some fire damage. The hallway was somewhat dark yet beautiful with graffiti. What a fantastic place this was.
It was such a beautiful pier. In the 80s I used to take shots of it pre storm and fire but now, this is what is left. Depending on the tide and the weather, it changes from hour to hour.
The restaurant industry is a difficult business in which to be successful, there are far more failures than successes. It's a competitive market and probably oversaturated, not to mention they have to stay current in terms of menu choices and decor. This particular restaurant The 6IX Bar & Grill was not successful and was not open for very long as far as I can tell. The earliest review I could find was from January of last year and most of the reviews were not positive. In April of the same year, the restaurant suffered from a fire in the overnight hours and by the time it was extinguished it had received significant fire and smoke damage. I visited the location twice after its forced closure and spent a few hours each time trying to capture the feel and mood of the location. Several weeks after my visits the restaurant was demolished and now sits as an empty lot up for sale.

Christmas Treasures has been a staple roadside attraction for generations. Hopefully they will be again some day.
For now, Christmas Treasures is a tale of a former home of seasonal kitsch in the ashes.
The Holiday Farm Fire had a huge impact on the communities up the McKenzie River from the Eugene/Springfield metro area.

The smoke from the fires still lingers at the top part of the farm in the Blue Mountains of NSW after the October 2013 fires (the State Mine Fire).

The farmhouse was saved with only few minutes to spare after the fires ripped through the surrounding bushland and paddocks. At the stage the bush fire brigade arrived (with five trucks), fires had got to within 10 meters of the house. We were very, very, lucky.

Thank heaven for the Rural Fire Service of NSW, and for the assistance from our immediate neighbours whose quick thinking and care saved the house.

Other residents were not so lucky, tragically with 2 adjacent farmhouses and other property being totally destroyed.
This old farmhouse, located between Carnamah and Three Springs, WA, was burned to the ground some time ago and all that remains is the chimney, some watertanks and nearby sheds. The land is still cropped and harvested as though nothing has happened.
Our Daly Challenge: Out of Control
Today we drove through Malibu and saw the devastation that the Palisades Fire caused to Malibu. We saw burned out lots and blackened debris everywhere. We saw one subdivision that was completely obliterated! In total 6,831 structures were destroyed and 973 damaged. It is one thing to see a news report reporting on a “story”; it is quite different to see the devastation with your own eyes. I fought back tears driving through the scene, and we only saw a small portion the destroyed areas.
This fire was in early January this year. Already nature is reclaiming the area; notice the plant growing out of this burned out car.
Thank you so much for your views, comments and favs. I really do appreciate every one!
