The 150th anniversary of the establishment of the City of Buchanan (Michigan) Fire Department was in 2012. The event was celebrated with the return of the bell that occupied the original fire house. The bell now occupies a place of honor in Fire House Park.
The following enscription is found on the bell:
Meneely & Kimberley,
Founders,
Troy, N. Y., 1876.
Unfortunately, the steps taken to protect the bell from vandalism (i.e., enclosure in plexiglass) makes it nearly impossible to take decent photos of the bell without intrusive reflections.
Taken for the "Smile on Saturday" theme of 8/15/2020: RING THE BELL.
Some of Thai art pattern like "Kanok" inspired by nature form like fire. But I do not believe textbook much cause I never seen rolled fire like "Kanok" before. Until recently I capture this picture, it has cleared my doubt that the fire that inspired artist to create the Thai art was not fire in kitchen or ligther. It is the fire in Budhism ceremony called "Lor Pha" or the fire that melt metals like gold or brass to mold buddha statue. It is very strong fire that can melt metal into liquid. I take this on Visakha Bucha day.
Breathing a stream of fuel over an open flame... just to entertain people, It can be a dangerous act performing by a juggler.
This is how they roll down in LA Pine at wedding receptions. They light their hula hoops on fire and get down.

After a month of travelling I'm back with several SD cards worth of photos from Hawaii and California. The processing will take quite a while.
Despite having about a million street shots my first outing is from a vacation night out on my wife's birthday. It was a Luau full of dancing and great entertainment but it was the fire that I'll always remember. Incredible.
High ISO due to the extreme darkness but I think the grain works well on this. Will be catching up with everyone in the coming days.
I just had to stop as we drove past. The mountain looked like the vegetation was on fire in the autumn light.
Good evening everyone,
It's been a busy week for me juggling 2 jobs but I'm hanging in there and things are going pretty good.
Sometimes work can take over your life but you just have to do it for the time being.
Don't think too much and appreciate that you can do it.
This year I try not to think as much as I used to.
Tonight I'm experimenting with fire ...months ago I was drawn to the water element ...this month January I feel drawn to the fire element.
Maybe because it is so cold in London right now.
In order to shine you must be your own light.
Today and tomorrow
let yourself shine always:)

•Fire Within•
Light burns in the dark, shadowy canyon as icy water flows beneath, catching and reflecting golden light, kisses of blue and teal. Shimmering cottonwoods dot the banks of this geological marvel and the tranquility of kneeling in the water of this place is pure magic. Little drops of water splashing on cold cheeks. I enjoyed this beautiful scene with my buddy John a few weeks ago on a banzai mission to Zion National Park.
Enjoy!!
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

I've got to say, there's too many lovely couples at Monster High,
it would be hard for me to choose a favourite but there's no doubt
that Abbey and Heath make a cool & hot duo ;-)
