Probably the worst pain I feel is the pain I make for myself.

Making mistakes since '94, you'd think I'd fucking learn sometime to unwind, to be less kind, to play the fool, to drop like a useless tool.

This is a made up diddy to help me feel pretty, please ignore, walk on, stand tall, continue to endure.

In Europe's medieval philosophy and theology (note that they were not separated - just like the big cathedrals were not just places of worship but also the location of vast libraries) it was a common thought that two books were written "by the finger of God"; the Bible and Nature. My point here is not to return to a pre-modern world view, but to highlight that here we have a sophisticated understanding that studying and "reading" nature are an alternative way of getting closer to God [or, to use a more scholarly language, a way to educate our ignorance]. Did anyone tell you

that in each subway train

there is one special seat

with a small hole in it

and underneath the seat

is a tank of piranha-fish

which have not been fed

for quite some time.

The fish become quite agitated

by the shoogling of the train

and jump up through the seat.

The resulting skeletons

of unlucky passengers

turn an honest penny

for the transport executive,

hanging far and wide

in medical schools.

Three Fingered Jack is a 7,844 ft volcanic peak in the Cascade Range near Sisters, Oregon. Here is the south face at sunrise with a lot more snow than we usually see.

Time for a Spring portrait change... and a little practice with black and white photos. I still struggle with those! Spring is known for being a time for a refresh and renewal. My fingers are crossed. ♥ Happy Spring!

Finger limes, Microcitrus australasica are an Australian species of citrus native to rainforests. They have been in widespread cultivation for about ten years.

The vesicles in the fruit unlike lemons and ordinary limes are crunchy. They taste like ordinary limes. These fruit are 1.8 in long.

For the Macro Mondays theme: citrus.

HMM and happy new week!

Thanks for visiting. I am most grateful for the very kind comments and faves.

My internet speed is a bit faster than it has been lately so I am trying to catch up. I still find that sometimes my comments and faves are not recorded immediately. I don't know if this is because my internet is slow or whether it is a problem with Flickr.

Fingers fall into the lake

Inside the water, they do make

Love to the hand of stone

That leads you to the loving throne

Where does sit the queen of hearts

Who from you, never parts

Who in your mind. forever lingers

She feels the touch of your fingers

That do fall into the lake

Where sweet love, they will make

A finger bowl is a small bowl of water, often with a lemon slice or flower, used for rinsing fingertips after eating messy or greasy finger foods, and for cleaning up before moving to the next course. They are traditionally served during formal meals, typically before or after the dessert course, but can also be presented after any course that involves eating with your hands.

Vestrahorn, is a 454 meter high mountain on the Stokksnes Peninsula, Iceland on a cold afternoon 12 months ago. It is one of the most photographed mountains in Iceland probably due to it's accessibility, though you do have to pay the landowner to enter the property. The clouds lifted for a short time allowing fingers of light to creep in with pleasingly contrast on the wet black sand.

A mannequin lifting its fingers in an elegant gesture at the Miss Fisher Murder Mysteries fashion exhibition held in Ayers House.

Ayers House is named after Sir Henry Ayers, five times Premier of South Australia and wealthy industrialist, who occupied it from 1855 until 1897.

Now that she's pregnant again, Bluey needs her food. Watching her eat lunch is the very definition of disgusting - but she scoffs the snails down with gusto and always licks her lips afterwards.
