Dirty red and green stripes harmonize at Hayford Interlocking on the BRC on the southwest side of the city. The CN power is taking headroom on the GTW connector and will tie onto a track in Clearing's east departure yard to make an L503-02 job for Markham.
Delightfully filthy Heavy Fuel Oil TEA no. VTG 83782 seen at Clay Mills.
This is a 72.8t Bogie Class B Tank Wagon, built in 1967 by Metro-Cammell, Birmingham
VTG is a leading global company which offers extensive logistics services. Amongst the leaders in Europe, where we continuously strengthen our position, we continue to enlarge our presence in the USA and Russia and are globally active in tank container logistics. Our customer base comprises the chemical, mineral oil, automotive and paper industries.
The worldwide increasing volume of cargo, the liberalization of the rail market and the considerable lower energy consumption of the rail sector compared to road transport are thus stainable growth strength of that VTG can profit. We have a diversified vehicle fleet of approx. 80,000 rail freight cars, pooled expertise and experienced staff and a track record of long-term customer relationships.
For the record, I didnt tell them to do this. haha.

No great claims for the quality of this grainy unlit photo, but the substitution today of 37099 and 37175 topping and tailing the Aberdeen PLPR circuit merits a record shot. 37099 leads 1Q26 out of Dock Street tunnel towards Carnoustie not long before sunset.
Painted in 2015, I modified the combed hair piece by cutting off the tip to make the hair look more like Filthy Franks.
I guess the job was even too filthy for the machine operator today. I can just imagine the fun our three boys would've had in this mud pile!
A good friend likes to remark when running into cruddy-looking motive power that "they weren't sending their best." That sure applies to the dreadful appearance of the 7710 here, but it does fit with the train it is hauling past 32nd Street in Birmingham. While 12T may look like a normal stack train at first glance, you don't want to get too close to those containers as they are returning empty from hauling loads of northeastern garbage to the large Arrowhead Landfill in rural West Alabama near Selma. Even when empty those retired steamship boxes put out a pungent odor that would knock a buzzard off a gut wagon!
