Tè al cardamomo

Ingredienti per due persone

2 cucchiaini di tè nero Assam

5 o 6 capsule di cardamomo

acqua

zucchero a piacere

una teiera

In un pentolino mettete a bollire l'acqua sufficiente per due tazze di tè e versatevi le capsule di cardamomo. Quando l'acqua bolle, abbassate la fiamma e lasciate sobbollire per altri cinque minuti. Spegnere la fiamma e coprire il pentolino con un coperchio. Lasciate i cardamomi in infusione per 10 minuti. Mettete il tè nella teiera e versateci sopra l'infuso di cardamomi. Lasciate in infusione per 5 minuti. Zuccherare e servire.

My great-great grandmother Maria Filomena Campilongo (1865 - 1944). She was born in Verbicaro, Italy and immigrated to the U.S., where she spent more than half her life in Oakland, California. In this photo, taken during WWI, she is standing in front of a service flag that indicates a member of her family was serving in the U.S. armed forces.
