Barn Hill in Stamford, very much the posh end of town. I think the local hotel (the Crown) now owns a few of these houses and lets them out as hotel rooms.

The quarry at Ketton, viewed from the woods. A very active quarry and there is a massive cement works here too. An incredible scar on the landscape. Quarrying has been going on around these parts for a long time, many of the quarries are now closed but Ketton continues.

During my education I went twice on a week-long study trip to Paris with the class. The first trip was in 1974.
I had my first SLR camera , an Asahi Pentax SP II which I bought second hand from my long time and hardly saved pocket money, and only one slide film roll with 36 exposures with me! My pocket money wasn't enough for more.
The film material has suffered a lot over the years, but I only have a small selection here for those friends who are interested in seeing what it was like in Paris at the time.
I took the photo with an analogue Asahi Pentax SP II (M42) camera and slide film, then scanned with a Nikon Coolscan LS 40ED film scanner

Ich war zweimal während meiner Ausbildung mit der Klasse auf eine einwöchige Studienreise in Paris.
Das erste Mal war 1974. Ich hatte meine erste Spiegelreflex Kamera , eine Asahi Pentax SP II gebraucht von meinem lang ersparten Taschengeld erworben dabei mit nur einem Dia Film mit 36 Aufnahmen! Für mehr hatte mein Taschengeld nicht gereicht
Das Filmmaterial hat in den Jahren sehr gelitten, ich habe hier nur eine kleine Auswahl für die Freunde die interessiert sind zu sehen wie es damals in Paris aussah.

They were filming a scene in a film "The Snowman".
The Snowman is a novel by Norwegian crime-writer Jo Nesbø.
--We just happened to visit the park same day.
They told me the movie will be out some time next year

The Launceston Gas Company operated on this site from 1858 to 1988, when the company was sold to Boral who closed down all local production. At least these beautiful old buildings (including the vertical retort building which converted coal to gas) still remain.
The square format of the 120 film makes an ideal frame for my composition.

Loads of cars parked as usual, would be a lot nicer without them of course. Fine old buildings. The little Retinette is an amazing camera, I am considering upgrading to a 1B (with lightmeter) but hopefully will resist and hold off.
