So this started as a macro of a light bulb filament taken through a a filter but I couldn't get any of the photos to come out clear enough. I still wanted a new desktop background and after a few minutes this is what I ended up with.

R7s J78 halogen tube linear (78mm) 150w. The filament has become so distorted it is starting to melt it's way through the glass.

Such a easy project to do, love the effect. Used a dremmel with a cutting disc to remove glass better than smashing it. Please use caution if you are going to try this isolate supply before and after lamp fitting.
