8208 leads a loaded coal train Kemira Valley coal train through West Unanderra. This line is quite difficult to photograph given that most of it has fences right next to the tracks, or is in dense bush. All of the coal from here is used for the Bluescope Steelworks at Port Kembla unloading near Cringila.
The crows love our neighbor's figs but they never could eat them all. It's fun to eat the ripe ones right off the tree.

This venerable old solitary fig tree is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area just a few miles from the boundary of Serengeti National Park. It was visited back in the 60s by the celebrated American author Peter Matthiessen, he wrote a book describing his East African adventures, called "The Tree Where Man was Born" a reference to an origin myth told by the Nuer people of South Sudan, this name was then given to this fig tree. It is a rather apt name, as not too far to the south is Olduvai Gorge, where fossils of some of the earliest human ancestors have been found.
This Fig Tree has been trained to grow along the Wall of the Kitchens that once served Kew Palace

One of the first test shots on the Nikon. The beautiful Figtree creek, which i never really payed any attention to until getting back in to photography.
This Fig Tree grows right next to our deck and one of the suet feeders. It is the preferred launch pad to the suet for many birds, including this male Nuttall's Woodpecker who with his pretty red head stands out against the denuded winter branches of the Fig.

A young Fig Tree grows out of a mature Bribie Island Pine, appropriately at Bellara on Bribie Island just before we laid Jenny's Mum to rest back in early June. Bribie Island is the northernmost island in Moreton Bay, Queensland.
Worked in the yard all day, yesterday, thinking how Arizona doesn't really have a Fall season and wishing I had more golden and red leaves to photograph when I looked up and saw the sun going down and casting its light right thru my Fig Tree. Once you become addicted to photography, you never see things the same again.... always looking at the way light plays or comes thru objects.
This shot is for Sylvia and Isabelle who take such wonderful shots of leaves.
