Wiki: The Malabar grey hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) is a hornbill endemic to the Western Ghats and associated hills of southern India. They have a large beak but lack the casque that is prominent in some other hornbill species. They are found mainly in dense forest. They move around in small groups, feeding on figs and other forest fruits. Their loud cackling and laughing call makes them familiar to people living in the region.

Reputedly 400 years old

Located on Calle Amargura, it was erected between the 15th and 16th centuries. This building has Gothic and Renaissance elements.

Its main façade follows the typology of most Cáceres palaces, with granite masonry highlighting the semi-circular arched doorway, large voussoirs reaching to the ground , a large image of Carvajal’s coat of arms framed in an alfiz, and a corner balcony under a pointed arch.

Inside the house, there is a rectangular cloister with arcades on columns.

Its twelfth-century round tower made of rough ashlars also stands out. At its base you will find the palace chapel, decorated with some interesting frescoes.

Recommendations: You must visit the garden, with a spectacular fig tree--a clear example of the interior green spaces that can be found today in these buildings in the Historic Centre.

Signs I saw while in Auckland, New Zealand, recently.

Our tree lady finally got a crew out yesterday and took care of all our trees blown down by Hurricane Irma. We can actually see the fig tree now. :-) We decided to leave the tree as is and let the garden lady decide what to do with it. It's still alive and green.

We also got our damaged gutters replaced yesterday. Excellent day!

Frost bite hit the big tree in early spring and it completely lost all the burgeoning fig crop. For a long time I didn't think it would try again. But it did! Every creature in the area will enjoy some of these. Even some lucky humans, if they're quick. :-)

Black figs, I think. They have a very strong flavor.

Fig tree bay . At the southern end of the Protaras main beach, Fig Tree Bay is very popular. It has a small sand island just off the coast, which is great for snorkelling with lots of fish to be seen.

Shooting into the sun at Figtree Creek. Technically pretty lousy, but there's something about the effect I like.

By a chance opportunity in 2011, I came to Brazil from China. When I had just arrived, my eyes were overflowing with fresh and new experiences, curiosity, and I had a beautiful feeling about the future. But after a short time, this fresh and new feeling was quickly replaced by the loneliness and pain of finding myself in a far-off foreign land. Every day I went back home all alone, ate by myself, looking at the walls around me every day without anyone even to talk to, and I felt especially lonely in my heart, often crying all alone. When I felt the most pain and helpless, the Lord Jesus brought me into a gathering by means of a friend. Through reading the word of the Lord, singing hymns, and praying in gatherings, my lonely heart received the consolation of the Lord. I learned from the Bible that the heavens and earth and all things were created by God, and man too is God’s creation. The Lord Jesus was crucified for the redemption of mankind, and it was the Lord Jesus who redeemed us from sin, and He is the only Redeemer of mankind. In the face of the Lord’s salvation, which is greater than all else, I felt deeply moved and resolved to follow the Lord for the rest of my life. Because of this I was baptized on Thanksgiving to become a Christian not just in name but in reality. Because I liked singing songs, especially those in praise of God , after I was baptized I took the initiative to join the choir and work as part of it. Through God’s guidance and blessings, I lived in peace and happiness. Every time I went to a gathering or praised God in worship, I felt suffused with energy.

then, i went to the “Fangorn Forest” ^o^ remember that forest with huge branches of trees in The Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers? hahahah… ^o^, it was the exactly feeling i’d when walking through the paths of the sacred monkey forest sanctuary in ubud. ancient beyond guessing, this forest is sacred for the balinese and for many years no one has been permitted to chop wood there. the forest is home to three temples, dating from around the 14th century. the largest is the Pura Dalem Agung, located on the highest point of the forest. A path through the trunks of huge nutmeg and banyan*figs* trees and across a small creek leads to the Holy Bathing Temple. and, yeah… the great trailing beards of banyan trees hung from them, swayed when blown by the breeze, it was an exceptional vision. >_< well, although i’m not a fan of typical flash shot, here *R1C1 Wireless Speedlight System* i wanted to add some extras on the hanging banyan roots and get the inattentive tourist in the same frame.

This line is quite difficult to photograph given that most of it has fences right next to the tracks, or is in dense bush. In ancient times, where Protaras is now located, stood the old city-state of Leukolla. The city possessed a small safe harbour where the Athenian Demetrius Poliorketes sought refuge in the year 306 BC, lying in wait for Ptolemeos, one of the successors of Alexander the Great.
