Fifty days after Easter comes "Kataklysmos" - the Day of the Holy Ghost. In Cyprus it is celebrated by fairs held on the water fronts.
Kataklysmos is a water-based festival that takes place along the beachfront, on Saturday of the Pentecost and Whit Monday.
The date for Kataklysmos follows the Orthodox Calendar, falling each year on Sunday of the Pentecost and Monday of the Holy Spirit.

In ancient times, where Protaras is now located, stood the old city-state of Leukolla. The city possessed a small safe harbour where the Athenian Demetrius Poliorketes sought refuge in the year 306 BC, lying in wait for Ptolemeos, one of the successors of Alexander the Great.

A young Fig Tree grows out of a mature Bribie Island Pine, appropriately at Bellara on Bribie Island just before we laid Jenny's Mum to rest back in early June. Bribie Island is the northernmost island in Moreton Bay, Queensland.
This venerable old solitary fig tree is located in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area just a few miles from the boundary of Serengeti National Park. It was visited back in the 60s by the celebrated American author Peter Matthiessen, he wrote a book describing his East African adventures, called "The Tree Where Man was Born" a reference to an origin myth told by the Nuer people of South Sudan, this name was then given to this fig tree. It is a rather apt name, as not too far to the south is Olduvai Gorge, where fossils of some of the earliest human ancestors have been found.

Fig tree is filling up. Now to keep animals and birds from eating them before I can pick them. I'm thinking of wrapping the tree in netting.

Both of these would have been nice shots. In this case the whole is less than the sum of its parts, but still an interesting image. Figtree creek has been a mooring point for fishing boats for at least 100 years. Nice spot for photos.

The Avatar Banyan Tree!
Some might not like the psychedelic colours, others do! Here's why and how this image came to be....
I did not add any colours nor did I add a filter or any other artificial colours, I only enhanced what is already there!
With further thought after enhancing the colours the camera already captured....could this be how we will be able to see trees and other plants if our eyes could capture/see the full spectrum of light!
After listening to the medicinal plant course of David Crow, I realised that we think it is our eyes that cannot capture the full spectrum of light, but it is actually our brain that holds us back! Your brain is the interpreter of what your eyes see! Change your mind - change what you think you see / interpret as real!
Magic mushrooms comes to mind... when they are consumed all of a sudden your eyes can see more of what you usually can't, so changing one's mind, might then just then lead you to see a tree in these colours too!
Can't wait, that would be quite amazing!
The crows love our neighbor's figs but they never could eat them all. It's fun to eat the ripe ones right off the tree.
