Our yard is small, but the alley between us & our neighbour is quite long. It's a good run to use for a game of fetch.
Storm Point gets its storms from being at the end of Yellowstone Lake's longest fetch. The prevailing southwesterlies cross the water about here and blast Storm Point. This is one of several characteristics of the lake that make it particularly dangerous for paddlers.
You can see the Red Mountains across the lake. Mount Sheridan is the high point of that range, and it was formerly part of the caldera. Behind the Red Mountains to the left, the Teton Mountains make an appearance.

A closer crop of a previous post. -trying to emphasise the water droplets from the ball thrown into the lake. I rather like the shape of the 'spray'.
I particularly like the circular ripples within the wall of water!
This dog appeared happy to fetch this stick the owner tossed in the Potomac River at Roosevelt Island, and I was happy to grab this photo.
Another photo from our recent trip to Cornwall. This was taken at the main harbour beach in St Ives. I took this whilst having a coffee in the morning sun, taking photos of people playing on the beach.
My girlfriend's border collie, Mollie... Like Rosie, she's a fetch monster...possibly even more so...
She's very unlike Rosie in many other ways...she's shorter...lighter...less muscular and powerful...a lot fluffier...but like Rosie, she is very lovable...
We were outside playing fetch with Alli's toy, the mostly indestructible Kong Wubba (the blue thing at the bottom of the shot) when I got this shot.
I say 'mostly indestructible' because after 1 day, she'd broken the squeaker in it (thankfully) and it takes her about a two weeks to shred the fabric. That's a pretty long life for one of her toys.
...patiently on the cliff-top path, while Katie Black, the Durlston Senior Ranger was counting Guillemots from the cliff face far below.
This is my entry for the 7. Four Legged Friend category in the 52 in 2015 Group.
Jasper turned 2 today and one of his presents was the ChuckIt Kick Fetch. Big hit. We let him open it yesterday and periodically during the day he'd stare out the window longingly at the big ball calling to him in the yard. But it was 102°F yesterday so we limited our time with it to early morning and early evening. No worries though. He also got an indoor ball which he's equally enthused about.
Gotta admire this dog's fly-away butt hair, huh!

Pretending to be our neighbor's dog, Ginger, early last week. A very
fun moment before a very hard one.
On the way back home that day, Max's ride-on toy got hung up on a crack
in the sidewalk. Since he likes to ride fast, he got tossed, and must
have landed tooth first -- he broke one of his front teeth. I could see
he broke the tooth, but with all the blood and crying I wasn't exactly
sure how badly or what else was injured. It was the scariest and
saddest moment I've had in a long time.
Fortunately a neighbor who's a pediatric nurse came right out to
assist. She's been a wonderful support since we brought Max home from
the hospital as a newborn (her son is the cute guy in my senior portrait shots
earlier this summer).
Sometime later I'll post a shot of his current grin, but it's soon to
change again. After two dentist visits, the doctor determined the
tooth is abscessed, and on Monday it will be pulled.
