Day 90
27 August 2009
According to the ancient Chinese philosophy, Feng Shui, placing bamboo in a room brings success and luck to those who maintain it and to the atmosphere in which it is. So far, we haven't had much luck with it fixing our shelf. Maybe we have some bad bamboo.
(Note: this picture is sort of an inside joke.)
Secret friend and fengshui allies for someone born in the year of the pig. Given to MN. The carving isn't very detailed, but the friend is on top and the allies are in the middle and bottom. In this case, they're of the tiger, rabbit and goat respectively.
Yes, my colleague puts the signs up when he's out for lunch (No, we don't work for NETS, so not sure where he got those from!)
Green Color is very nourishing to your health, as it calms your nerves and balances your whole body.
Green can be freely used in the East, Southeast areas of your home or office.
Lions guarding the HSBC building in the Central district of Hong Kong. Emily tells me that getting close enough to touch one will bring me good luck.
- delagram picture taken last Sunday Nov 1 Jongmyo Shrine.
Some places are out of bounds, even to some of the working staff.
Bet no tour group will bring you here... I don't recall even reading it on any day trips and fact was I do not see any tour groups while being there. Finally we made it at Jongmyo shrine. We had meant to visit it in 2013 but couldn't due to timing. An UNESCO heritage site, it is the oldest and most authentic of the Confucian royal shrines to have been preserved on this planet. It has existed in its present form since the 16th century and houses spirit tablets of the former kings and queens from the royal family. Ritual ceremonies with traditions that goes back to the 14th century take place twice every year... how close we had to miss it as the second in the year happened on the following Saturday!

The walls of the stairway and hall are supposed to be white wheat, it's more white than I wanted but it looks nice.
