This picture was taken after a long day of learning how to walk with crampons on the glacier, learning how to place a save ice screw and practicing how to rescue someone out of a cravasse.
We returned to the Kürsingerhütte - our place to spend the night - I ran in and fetched my camera before I ordered my beer after a exhausting but beautiful day.
Not likely ... A woman selling poached birds at a Chiang Mai flea market turns away from the camera to avoid getting identified. People buy these birds to set them free.

One of my favorite shots/photo sessions was with this fellow back in April. I was deep in the woods of Muscatatuck NWR and he (an assumption) came right in on my location and landed. Many times I have approached owls or simply lifted my camera only to have them fly in the opposite direction and out of sight or attempt to hide in the shade of a pine tree.
When they land right in front of you, in perfect lighting it confirms that you are blessed!

On the third visit to the Vercors region of France our stars aligned for a morning climb of Grand Veymont, the highest point of the Vercors Massif in the French Prealps. It was a joy to meet up with our daughter for some hiking in this part of France. The photo is a panorama from 7 vertical frames. In the distance to the left are the French Alps. In the centre and to the right we are looking south along the edge of the High Plateaus of Vercors, limestone plateaus surrounded by 300m (1000 ft) vertical cliffs. Prominent Mont Aiguille (centre left) is a limestone mesa, previously connected to the main body of the high plateau of the Vercors Massif to the right.
