Originally built as a DC-10-30CF with a main deck cargo door, this aircraft could be used for carrying either passengers or cargo. It was delivered to World Airways as N106WA in Apr-79. It was wet-leased to Malaysia Airlines for a Haj Pilgrimage operation in Sep/Oct-81. In Mar-87 the aircraft was sold to Mitsui Finance and leased back to World Airways. Ir was sub-leased to SABENA Belgian World Airlines between Jan/Jun-89. On it's return from SABENA, the aircraft was 'returned' to the lessor, leased to Fed Ex Federal Express and sub-leased back to World Airways. Between May/Jun-91 and Jun/Jul-92 the aircraft was again wet-leased to Malaysia Airlines for Haj Pilgrimage operations. It was returned to FedEx in Aug-94, re-registered N317FE and converted to full freighter DC-10-30(F) standard. It was converted to Fed Ex's MD-10-30(F) standard in Jun-09. The aircraft was retired at Victorville, CA, USA in May-15 after 36 years in service. It was last noted still at Victorville in Nov-16.

Originally built as N112WA in 1980 and delivered to World Airways on May 14th of that year, this plane has had a fascinating ownership/lease history:

- used by Lufthansa in 1989

- served for Garuda from July 1989 to July 1990

- alternated between World Airways and Malaysia Airlines from 1990 to 1994

- finally joined FedEx's fleet on September 2, 1994 with the current registration, and has not been repainted since then (note the "Federal Express" titles still remaining!)

It was very nice to get an FX A300 for the first time. This flight operated from their Guangzhou hub. In the past year they've started flying the A300s intra-Asia.
