Париж, Елисейские поля. Множество гламурных витрин так и манят своими новыми коллекциями. И порой уже не понимаешь, кому интересней, ведь манекены на витринах тоже живут своей жизнью.
Callaway Gardens - a wonderful year-round place to visit. Close enough to make it a reasonable daytrip but far enough to make it feel like a mini vacay.
Haven't been in the past few years, due to the pandemic and other factors, but a girlfriend came for a brief visit last week and we headed to Callaway to see their Fantasy in Lights, and packed in as much as possible for our daytrip. There's actually so much to see and do we normally spend at least two days when we go.
Grabbed this shot of one of their lakes and what's left of the fall foliage. We were at the Discovery Center Amphitheater waiting for their Birds of Prey Show to start.
It's been a minute since I've been trackside. A late-departing CP 528 with some foreign power leading was the perfect excuse to get back into it.

Its 10:35AM, a full 12.5 hours later than the advertised departure for VIA's flagship passenger train, "The Canadian". Though delays for the Canadian are not unusual, it rare to have it depart Toronto in daylight. However, on April 25, 2018, this was the case.
Cameron and I went down to Bathurst St. for the usual skyline shot. We were lucky enough to J U S T catch the deadhead into Toronto Union Station. That alone would've sufficed, but we stuck it out for the main event. We waited, drenched in rain, and shivering from the Lake Ontario winds for this guy to depart. Finally, at 10:35, VIA's #2 departed the 6ix, bound for the wilderness of Canada.
Sure, the low clouds and rain kinda sucked, but I'm thrilled to finally see this train for myself!

Down at Radford University in the Arts Center Building is a huge open space filled with rooms where students learn the intricacies of different creative arts.
In almost every window to a study room there was a view similar to this. The huge windows in the background were on both sides providing gorgeous light almost every where you stood. This room stood out to me as I've sewn/stitched for over 25 years now and have made clothing in the past so I understand the absolute attention to detail required for this kind of work.
Seeing the room left as it was I guess on the Friday before Im sure there were some that left frustrated as well as some that left feeling victory... What I do know is that room is filled with creative energy weekly which is nothing short of badass of the highest order!.
Its open on Sunday but no students around except for a few hardcores.. So i was able to wander and shoot at will with a friend of mine.. A great time no doubt and will be heading back again to get shots I left behind.

No Photoshop foolery.

Just liked the colours here. Being grey and invisible I sneaked a shot of my own...but not sure she didn't clock me!
During the 1880s and 1890s many homes were being constructed uptown along Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue in NYC.As the city became more and more congested, many middle class families made the move northward to live in homes such as this one at 1321 Madison Avenue.Starting in 1890,this and four other row houses were built on this block by architect James E. Ware. This one and the small one to the left of it are the only two survivors, however. The other three were torn down to make room for retail establishments. The prewar structure was built in 1903 in the fashionable Queen Anne style of the time. The entrance to the building is on the side where the stoop (slang, for steps that lead up to a platform or landing) is,as you can see in the shot. The stoop gave direct entrance into the living room or parlor of a row house like this one, whereas the kitchen was in the basement where foodstuff also would be delivered.

Looking resplendent in its fresh coat of BR Blue 56081 passes Water Orton East Junction heading 5M66 Leicester L.I.P. to Longport F.D. conveying 56104 and 56312 off for conversion to Class 69 locomotives a couple of Mk1 barriers and 47749 City of Truro thrown in for good measure and just 166 minutes late. 221136 trailing 1S49 did its best to scupper the shot as did 1V11 Nottingham to Cardiff Central but with the magic of Photoshop it was moved a little farther round on the main.
My first ADG custom.
