This picture belongs to my fashion editorial-assignment at Norsk Fotofagskole. All pictures are shot in natural / ambient lighting with reflectors, mostly at 50mm handheld. The collection was printed in our fictional magazine "Kvit" focusing on Norwegian style and traditions.

Finally got around to editing these photo's. Taken behind Stellas in Downtown GR. Love the expression, pose and model. Very minimal retouching. Taken on 5D MK II + 50mm 1.4

OurDailyChallenge TRENDS

I cannot think of anything that has been as "TREND" driven as the fashion industry. Fashions come and go almost annually but the Flapper fashions that can be traced to about 1915, came into its own in the Roaring Twenties. It hit the big time when Hollywood produced "The Flapper" in 1920, a film starring Olive Thomas. She had appeared in a similar role in 1917, but The Flapper was the first time the style was linked to the term.

What other fashion trend so readily brngs to mind a specific style?

This is a shot of the centre sprad in the Canadian Home Journal from December 1924, perhaps the height of this fashion trend.

"Despite its popularity, the flapper lifestyle and look could not survive the Wall Street Crash and the following Great Depression. The high-spirited attitude and hedonism simply could not find a place amid the economic hardships of the 1930s." Wikipedia

This was a fashion photography session provided by a photography school for free! Anyone could just go and take pictures :-)

All pictures taken inside a shopping mall with stone walls and minimal studio lighting, hence the horrible background and all that light reflected from the walls :-(

This is a Fashion Illustration drawn at some time in the 1950's displaying Gentleman's Fashion in Newcastle upon Tyne.

The image is part of a collection capturing the changing face of Fashion in Newcastle upon Tyne, from the 1940’s to the 1970’s. This is expressed through photographs of shop fronts, advertising photography and product photography. More photographs can be viewed here www.flickr.com/photos/twm_news/sets/72157633468735885/

I don't know anything about fashion photography, so citiques on this and any of the other pictures from this set would be appreciated.

Young men of the twenty-first century on the Royal Mile. Two of the younger generation show off their kilts and in the background the fair haired lad is also wearing a kilt. He has not spotted the camera though his lass obviously has!
