I was working out in the country trying to find a customers house, and I passed this amazing old tractor sat unwanted in a field. I grabbed my camera quick as the impending rain cloud loomed overhead and took these shots.

A child's toy garden tools against one of the old radiators, and a family portrait just leaning against a wall.....

Makes me want to collect pitchforks. No reason.

In France, even indoor picnics can be special! A table in the main ground-floor guest area of la Grange de La Ferdière, a chambres-d'hôtes (bed-and-breakfast) home in the Clunysois / region of Cluny (also spelled Clunisois, in the département of Saône-et-Loire, Bourgogne / Burgundy, in eastern France). On this chilly and mostly cloudy early evening in early June 2009, an indoor picnic -- complete with a bottle of local area wine -- provides the perfect dinner setting.

The farm tools along the stone wall represent the building's origin as a farm building.

This was the sunset that night, as we were walking around on the property of where the first ever Woodstock was born! Was so beautiful!

Somehow tho, my camera didn't quite capture exactly what I saw, b/c the sun was actually RED!!!! I had to mess around with the colors on this, to get it close!

Right by the door of the red Clock House is this collection of old farm tools.

I had a request for more detail on the farm tools in This picture., so here it is.

Take a look at the larger views. There are chains, hooks, pitchfork heads, tongs, and horseshoes.

Local farmer in his farm cleared with hoe and cutlass, simple farm tools.

I'm looking to downsize & so am clearing things out.

Thanks to Julian Hodgson for naming them. The pliers would have been used to loosen the brass ring on a lamp base fitting that frequently stuck.

Original post -I found this vintage tool & have no idea of its use. It has a REG69044 something like SKVIIIX markings.

Felt like changing the colors completely on this one!!! Don't want 2 of the same pic! LOL

Found this thing (looks like a piece of an old farm tool) wedged between the limbs of an old diseased oak tree. Brushed off the dirt and brought it home, introduced it to my dirty gardening gloves and it was love at first sight. I didn't have the heart to separate them sooooo... "Rusty Crusty and Dirty Garden Gloves" :)

Changing from the middle buster to the subsoiler mode [chisel plow tip] on the Vasser 3pt tool.

I use an enclosed car hauler as a garage, with the John Deere 6x4 gator as both a self-propelled toolbox & workbench.

"Only another 40 acres to go!"

It makes sex look positively pedantic!

This HAY CUTTER is an early version of a riding lawn mower, I think it was 2 horsepower, pulled by 2 horses. Instead of just cutting a lawn it cut hay to feed and bed farm animals. Stored inside a Pole Barn, a barn without walls was usually built from pole saplings supported by large logs with a roof of palm fronds or cedar shakes. It provided shade from the sun and protection from the rain for farm tools and animals.

A wheelbarrow is a small hand-propelled vehicle, usually with just one wheel, designed to be pushed and guided by a single person using two handles to the rear, or by a sail to push the ancient wheelbarrow by wind. The term "wheelbarrow" is made of two words: "wheel" and "barrow." "Barrow" is a derivation of the Old English "bearwe" which was a device used for carrying loads. Some people incorrectly substitute the word "barrel" in place of "barrow" as this seems to make more sense (possibly because the cavity in a wheelbarrow resembles a half-barrel).

The wheelbarrow is designed to distribute the weight of its load between the wheel and the operator so enabling the convenient carriage of heavier and bulkier loads than would be possible were the weight carried entirely by the operator. As such it is a second-class lever. Traditional Chinese wheelbarrows, however, had a central wheel supporting the whole load. Use of wheelbarrows is common in the construction industry and in gardening. Typical capacity is approximately 170 litres (6 cubic feet) of material.

A two-wheel type is more stable on level ground, while the almost universal one-wheel type has better maneuverability in small spaces, on planks or when tilted ground would throw the load off balance. The use of one wheel also permits greater control of the deposition of the load on emptying.

arge vintage rustic farm tool with wood handle and rusty metal blade. retired after years of hard work on the farm this great old piece now makes fabulous wall art. as you can see from the pictures it has lots of history and charm.

Went for a few days during easter week-end up north! We had some beautiful days (which is great for the icelandic Easter) and we managed to discover new places! After 4 years, there are still many places I haven't seen here in Iceland!
