Hibiscus is a genus of flowering plants in the mallow family, Malvaceae. The genus is quite large, comprising several hundred species that are native to warm temperate, subtropical and tropical regions throughout the world. Wikipedia

Family: Malvaceae

I had thought this was a dahlia and fortunately, one of my contacts let me know that this showy flower is a new variety of coneflower. Thank you, Sharon!

Taken for the Smile on Saturday theme of Fancy Fabrics. I have spent ages faffing around trying to get a shot I am happy with using all different fabrics but this is the best I could manage! The fabric is blurry just in case anyone thought it was out of focus! HSoS!

I've always loved the delicate and detailed plumage on the Australian Wood duck. This male was posing nicely for me.

Last summer, I was on a neighbourhood walk and found this fancy coneflower topped by a milkweed seed and visited by an Ashy Pleromelloids Moth. Fancy that!

Thank you for your views and comments, all are greatly appreciated. Have a great day!

this is another image from the swimming pool that's only visible at low tide at The Dancing Ledge on Dorsets beautiful Jurrasic coast! I climbed down onto the ledge which is 6-8 feet down onto what seems like sheet ice.... I nearly didn't go as is was quite dangerous....... but after looking and seeing as tide was on its way out I reckoned id have time and so went for it.......

this is over two minute exposure with a 10 stop Lee filter and a CPL filter on the front

Another one of my gorgeous Clematis vines, growing in my garden. When the bloom is done, the seed head is just as beautiful! Best viewed large.

Messing around with inventory. No fancy edits. Just me and some inventory junk.

While we were shooting Mardi Gras house floats, I had the opportunity to shoot other great details all over town! I am especially fond of the old ironwork that is just everywhere!

HFF!

New Orleans, LA

Hello there! I hope all is well my friends! I am here featuring {moss&mink} with the Aeryn Kitchen & Mallory Kitchen Clutter!! This kitchen is a modular set which gives you the ability to easily make it fit any size space. There a nice variety of texture change huds for this kitchen and I decided to go with the Homme one because..well... I like black. LOL I could have cut the lights off but I decided to have them on and not use chandeliers to add to the boldness of the space. I just wanted a fancy kitchen full of the amazing Black and Gold colors and some cute kittens. This is what I came up with! Thank you so much for the support my friends and have a blessed week ahead! xoxo <3333 Ebony

Macro Monday theme 'egg': For this shot, I wanted to do a different type of egg and create a food masterpiece. I started by making a 3/4" cubed rice roll wrapped in seaweed. Placed an edible flower and piece of dill in the frame, then finally placing the 'egg' (salmon roe) on the roll and acrylic base.

I think this one's called the "Defensive split" LOL

Oh hum hum humdrum hummers, more hummers!

this is what happens when you don't get out and take new photos. You constantly dive into the archives.

There are many little villages in Quebec that showcase local art in tasteful ways throughout their area. I have seen it with benches on the Main Street in Aylmer that look like sculptures but you can sit on them. Manhole covers on the street have neat art imprinted in the metal. In the towns we explored along the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, people display carved wood or metal statues on their lawns, in front of churches and in beautiful small parks. This is a fence along a boardwalk in a small park that is being beautified beside the Chutes de la Rivières du Sud. You can see the spray coming from the waterfall behind it. Enjoy art in your community this summer! Happy Fence Friday!

♥ Thank you very much for your visits, faves, and kind comments ♥

Taken during a photoshoot at our camera club. The flowers are dried and placed on a light table. This helps with the translucency,

I myself like the delicate look and feel.

I adore silk, the shiny (but no too bling) finer ornaments.

Here I am holding: COILED SILK…

I can so enjoy them, like this one.

Hope you do too?

THANKS for ALL your comments and visits, so appreciated, M, (*_*)
