After 5 days of continuous and unrelenting rain (yes! More rain!), I now have the creek meandering thru my woods that I always wanted. This tree fell awhile ago, but today I got up close and personal.
Here is a re-edit of a photo taken back in December of 2016. Since then, the UP 1963 has been repainted into Union Pacific's "Armour Yellow" paint scheme, just as most of their other fallen flags have. In this photo, the UP LSB50 (now the LSB54) is passing over the Embarras River at Villa Grove. They are departing north to do work at several industries and interchanges between here and Yard Center in Chicago.
Still walking in the park, Its beginning to look alot like the Autumn months already.................

A little change from big skies. I think this heavy mist looks like the clouds have fallen from the sky. I was changing my battery when I looked up and saw it. This was the only shot I got with the mist ' crashing ' into the little hillock. The mist was moving quickly !
Just a simple pic of fallen autumn leaves... If i'm honest, I think it needed a bit more depth of field, but I loved the colours and the richness....
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
“Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times,
the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived
while I was strong.
Continue my heritage,
I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely
the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease,
my soul is at rest.
Remembering all,
how I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions,
no matter how small.
Go on with your life,
don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly,
so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes
we’re together again.”

Nachdem es bei uns in Augsburg die letzeten zwei Tage nur geregnet, steht manches unter Wasser - deshalb der Gedanke, die herabgefallene Blume in einem Bild zu verarbeiten.
After it has rained in Augsburg for the last two days, some things are under water - hence the idea to process the fallen flower in a picture.

Another day, another leaf tuned. Fallen Colour is a series celebrating and documenting autumnal leaves once they have left the tree. Focus stack of 12 images.
for Macro Monday - “Stone Rhyming Zone"
The wind has BLOWN and the leaf has FLOWN from its tree. It is now PRONE on the STONE road, where it was THROWN by the Autumn breeze. It is all ALONE.....
MY original image was more than 3" including the negative space, so I cropped it - I don't like the result as much as the original, so I included that as well...
I adore finding things that show off their imperfections and age. Rust, peeling paint, cracks, rips, wrinkles, puckers, whatever it is that makes something interesting. Though perfection is what we are taught to strive for imperfection and difference needs to be celebrated. Celebrate the imperfections in your life today!
Walking through the forest I noticed this pretty landscape opening up in front of me. I love it when the fallen leaves are carpeting the forest floor. These bright leaves were glowing and they caught my attention. I had to capture this moment.

Fallen Angel
Song by Three Days Grace
Lyrics
Late at night I could hear the crying
I hear it all, trying to fall asleep
When all the love around you is dying
How do you stay so strong?
How did you hide it all for so long?
How can I take the pain away?
How can I save
A fallen angel, in the dark
Never thought you'd fall so far
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall tonight
Fallen angel
You do it all for my own protection
You make me feel like I'll be okay
Still I have so many questions
How do you stay so strong?
How did you hide it all for so long?
How can I take the pain away?
How can I save,
A fallen angel, in the dark
Never thought you'd fall so far
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall tonight
Fallen angel, just let go
You don't have to be alone
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall tonight
I was right beside you
When you went to hell and back again
I was right beside you
When you went to hell and back again
And I, I couldn't save, a fallen angel
A fallen angel, in the dark
Never thought you'd fall so far
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall tonight
Fallen angel, just let go
You don't have to be alone
Fallen angel, close your eyes
I won't let you fall tonight
Fallen angel
Remember me forever
Please forget me never

Look at this scene I found in a wonderful hidden valley. Well, I call this valley hidden because I can’t remember ever having seen any picture from a photographer of this valley in any Social Media portal. I was so fascinated like a little child when I saw that fallen tree in the middle of the little mountain cascade. I had to make a shot of course, but the composition was not very easy. The result was that I had to position me with one leg into the cold and icy water. As I was completely alone here it was obvious that I had to take off my pants (lol). I think this would also have given cool scene (lol). But honestly, what would you have done in my place?

The skelletal remains of this fallen tree, which is on the shoreline of Lake Argyle below one of the primitive campsites, makes a great place for me to hang my camera bag. I wonder whether the tree was there when the dam was built to create the lake. The land for the state park was purchased by the state in 1948 from local farmers.
In the distance, the dam and spillway can be seen.

A fallen tree branch from one of the old trees near Wollaton Hall in Nottingham. Relatively close-focus using the old "Rollfilm" camera. I should keep better notes of settings, I'm curious about the aperture I used here. Probably f/11, maybe f/16 I guess (at 1/100 second exposure).
The light leak from the bellows is still visible here across the top of the photo.
