My first Blue-winged Warbler. I wished I could have talked him out of the dark.

Learned a lot in an outing with Don D on the field mark differences between the Baird's Sandpipers vs. the Semipalmated Sandpipers. Check out his photo for the reference.

Still more shorebirds to come. I'm glad we've managed to get some shorebirds within the last 2-3 weeks, but the numbers have gone down quite a bit as some have moved on and continued their fall migration.

I'm not sure. Maybe a Pine Warbler?

This was the first time I was able to photograph this warbler species so I was delighted to have the opportunity.

What I like best about this shot is it's location: At the water's edge.

Sibley says: "found along wooded streams and pond edges, they walk along the water's edge, bobbing their tails rhythmically."

Connecticut Warbler way up in some Grape vines with some Cedar Waxwings. This photo was one of 3 seen at the Koch Property in Northampton County (PA) on September 25, 2015.

Look who showed up at my feeding station yesterday! This is the first Red-breasted Nuthatch I've seen in over a year! I love their endearing nasal "yank" call. They are tiny and super active birds, so I'm happy I managed to get a few sharp images of him. Hope he sticks around! I had some other fall migrants in the yard yesterday too which I share with you in the coming days. -•••-

One of the last to migrate. This one was feeding on some berries and was curious as to what I was doing. It posed quite nicely for the shot. Enjoy!

The only Warbler of the day, and I'm not quite sure it is. Oh well. It does have a nice yellow throat.

In Fall Migration

I think this is a female.

I've been seeing three of these woodpeckers just as I arrive at the trail. A nice start to the day.
