Welcome to the magic and wonders that is Eagle Creek.

This morning I got up early and headed out to Eagle Creek wih Ben Canales If you aren't familiar with his work, then please take some time to check it out. He does some amazing photography that showcases not only his talents, but also his passions.

Now for those of you not familiar to Eagle Creek, let me introduce you, and there are more where this came from. The entire trail is a gentle climb through a canyon of Basalt rock that has been carved out by Eagle Creek, though there are at least a dozen or more creeks that flow into Eagle. Nomally, there are about 6 main waterfalls on the Eagle Creek trail along with a few minor falls. Today however, the water was gushing and there were literally dozens of falls flowing into Eagle Creek.

This particular falls does not have any name tha I know of, and I have not even been able to find another shot of it (though I am sure someone will pop up with one now). Getting to a view point of these falls was an adventure to say the least.

For me, it started with Ben heading a few hundred yards up the trail while I took a few shots of a small creek. While walking up the trail to catch up with Ben, I could see all of these falls through the trees. I actually fealt a little bit of sensory overload from all the falls I could see--- at one point, I could see six different falls that all measured at least 50 feet.

When I caught up with Ben, he was staring out, trying to find a way down to get a good view. Sure enough, we found a route that took up down to some pretty sweet views (I'll post those later which will make ou appreciate this one even more).

After that, we made our way up to Punchbowl falls. It actually took us over 4 hours to hike 2 miles to Punchbowl. That, in and of itself, should tell you how much fun were were having.

After leaving Punchbowl, we were ready to make our way back to the car, and head home. That was... until we came back to these falls again. We searched around, and eventually fount a route (and I use the term "route" loosely) that took us down to this viewpoint. We spent about an hour shooting and enjoying these falls from this viewpoint.

This shot doesn't quite show the presepctive,, but I am sitting on top of a waterfall that is at least 60 feet high. However, I like how this perspective made it look as if the two waterfalls were rushing into eacher other. I'll have another one up soon to show you were this was taken from,

Overall, this trip was nothing short of epic. We don't have have new pics of Metlako, or Punchbowl falls, but I think we did get quite a few very unique and spectacular shots from Eagle Creek. And I owe a special thanks to Ben for coming along. It was a real pleasure.

And to everyone else...

Happy Waterfall Wednesday!!

I love how this one turned out!! I made it for a swap and had a really hard time putting it in the package!

A fabric postcard made for swap with Selina.

ODC. Descent. My sweet little grandson has the influenza and I have been watching him during the day. He is deep asleep here.

At least the ground is not frozen and the harvesting is finished. The wind chill was +3 degrees F.

This is a hand held three shot HDR. It did not come out the way I wanted (at least one shot did not line up right) but the leafs are falling so I don't think I can shoot it again. And how do you repeat a sky?

I forgot the darn bale of hay *slaps forehead* Oh well, I will get my chance!

The foliage colors change on a daily basis, but it is probably near the peak.

Lame caption, over-saturated processing, and a sight that is a miracle almost 5 years past its expiration date.

“Dreams are illustrations... from the book your soul is writing about you.”

It appears that I have been tagged by Elisabeth Albert, Little Miss Daly, www.flickr.com/photos/karrah_kobus/, and no dilemma !!!!

So here are just a few things about me:

1. I love driving with the windows open.

2. I have a blue Acoustic guitar. Her name is Luna.

3. I'm not so great at remembering names, I usually have to repeat their name inside my head before I really commit it to memory.

4. I usually have 2-3 dreams a night and remember almost all of them.

5. When I was younger I didn't like my brown eyes. I thought that brown eyes were boring, unlike green or blue eyes. But I've discovered that they aren't so boring afterall. . . sometimes you just have to look a little deeper.

"It was a morning of ground mist, yellow sunshine, and high rifts of blue, white-cloud-dappled sky. The leaves were still thick on the trees, but de-spangled gossamer threads hung on the bushes and the shrill little cries of unrest of the swallows skimming the green open park spaces of the park told of autumn and change."

Flora Thompson

October is the month for painted leaves.... As fruits and leaves and the day itself acquire a bright tint just before they fall, so the year near its setting. October is its sunset sky; November the later twilight.

The color balance is pretty funky but I love how it looks in this picture. Makes it look sort of alien-ish x)

I love the look of romance. My table cloth was handmade by my great grandmother. The gold flatware and china are from my mom.
