I really enjoy autumn time when the trees display a varied amount of intense colours before the starkness of winter.
The word Fall was used alongside the older term 'Autumn' in the 1600s. Both words were taken to America by the settlers, but Fall stuck in America and I think it is such a realistic description of what happens in deciduous woodland, I like the term. Here are some wonderful leaves in our local park, waiting to fall.

Oh I really wanted to make milk splashes to go along with my falling Oreos but it was too windy outside to set up and I didn't want to have to clean up milk. Some day what I envision I will create but I need to take baby steps to get there. Played with my flash again today and a bit of Photoshop and snap, done for the day.

A maple leaf upside down on the water in the the way to nowhere. I can go to the same place every week and always find something beautiful, sometimes you don't have to go so far.
a fine location to capture fall colours is this ruin in the south of Leipzig. The Problem for this church began in world war 2. Fortunately there was not enough money to repair her. In 1974 a flash hit the church tower and the roof was broken, so that we have this unique place in the beautyful saxony.
The sky was over my mountains today was clear, no depth, no mood, an hour down the road however a small patch of clouds sat above the peaks. Despite wanting to stay in for the day and work on photos from earlier, I decided the fall colors deserved the attention. So I pack up the gear, hit the road and watch as I approach the dark clouds over the area, up once more into the parkway, around the twists turns. I am not as familiar with the area for photographic locations, but found a few interesting compositions to sink my teeth into. A few shots I couldn’t get composed slipped through my fingers, but that’s alright, there’s always next time. This particular shot I was quite happy with, clouds dipping into the mountains, trees beginning to turn more vibrantly, lovely light and shadow. Around every bend is a new opportunity.

I got up Sunday for the sunrise and fall color shots with the morning light lighting up the fall colors. We had a hail storm today with a lot of leaves coming down.

When two seasons collide it paints some pretty pictures. Here in Ontario we are experiencing an abrupt end to fall with our first snowfall. Happy Fence Friday!
That is the name of this water fall and it was located in.... Falling Waters West Virginia! LOL Not a huge water fall at only 15 feet but pretty and the sight of two Civil War battles. The path down to it was extremely steep but I got this far! Anita was able to get all the way down to the foot of it but had a difficult time coming back up. It was our destination for the day (week before yesterday) and we actually made it there ......as often as not we get side tracked and never get to where we had in mind! . How they fought on this steep, rocky terrain, I wouldn't know as I had trouble just staying steady and upright! LOL Have a great day everyone!
A shot of falling and fallen leaves in Utrecht, the Netherlands, in order to celebrate Autumn. Trees are reflected in the Nieuwegracht canal.
Fall or autumn begins today, on September 22, 2021, since the autumnal equinox astronomically occurs at 19:22 hrs (UTC / GMT).
The sun peaks through the colorizing canopy of a wild Dogwood Tree on the farm. We're usually way behind every place else when it comes to fall color and usually don't reach a peak until mid to late November. Have a great evening and thanks for the visit.
The Fall River just below Chasm Falls. You have to travel the Old Fall River Road to get to this location.
