Cute old dog spotted in the small town of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, capital of the Camargue in the south of France. I couldn't resist a little B&W processing through Silverefex. I love how her spots seem to blend right in with the old stone doorstep she's sitting on. Happy Sliders Sunday :-)
"If you talk to the animals, they will talk with you and you will know each other. If you do not talk to them, you will not know them; and what you do not know, you will fear. What one fears, one destroys." —Chief Dan George
It was a few days ago when I walked with my faithful companion Roco through the forests in our area. As always, we both enjoyed nature and silence. I need it so much in these days and my friend is doing my soul so well, because he feels exactly how I am. We understand each other through gestures and eye contacts. I see so much in his eyes and he probably much more.
(Did you know that during the big tsunami catastrophe, the animals spied long before the humans, that something bad will come and therefore they were safe early on.)
Animals understand and feel more than we can imagine. This is my opinion.
Whenever I'm not feeling well, Roco handles things in a different way than when he realizes that I'm happy. I need him and he needs me. That's how it is.
I dedicate this photo to him here and his loyalty and his affection to all of us in the family. We love you Roco !!!
To the picture:
A few weeks ago a strong storm swept through our country. The many branches on the ground are the result of it. Many trees fell over or were torn apart. The forests are full of the destruction of this strong storm. Roco picked a beautiful place from where he could keep an overview. A very attentive dog and good protector !!!

Old Faithful is a cone geyser in Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming, United States. It was named in 1870 during the Washburn–Langford–Doane Expedition and was the first geyser in the park to be named. It is a highly predictable geothermal feature and has erupted every 44 minutes to two hours since 2000. The geyser and the nearby Old Faithful Inn are part of the Old Faithful Historic District.

I’ve took thousands of shots of waves pounding the Roker Lighthouse from all angles. Today I must have taken over 400, most will be binned. Here is one of the shots that gets to strut its stuff. Nothing clever about naming this one, Old Faithful after the giant geyser in Yellowstone Park. Mind you given the number of times I’m back photographing this lighthouse maybe that name fits the lighthouse.
Faithful Beauty Moth is a breath taking moth. The first time I had seen this moth I was stunned at it's beauty. I had seen it in the Florida Keys and it was resting under a leaf on a wooded trail. I moved the leaf and the moth fluttered in the air catching the sunlight. The colors are so pretty.
I have a few favorite things in Green-Wood Cemetery that I revisit from time to time.

Very moving monument ... gone, but not forgotten. This touched my heart.

It’s not my bike, but seeing it patiently waiting there made me think that a bike like that is a true companion, reliable and steady. That’s exactly how I feel about mine :-).
Lenton Roses are blooming in the woods just outside my back door! They are such a happy chorus of joy. I step to the window to look at them often throughout the day!
This image was taken near the end of an eruption and shows more steam than water.
Old Faithful is one of nearly 500 geysers in Yellowstone and one of six that park rangers can currently predict. The intervals between eruptions vary from 50 to 110 minutes on average, but that doesn’t make the famous geyser less predictable. The length of an eruption impacts the interval between eruptions, helping park rangers know when to expect them. In the 1960s, the average interval between eruptions was 66 minutes, quite a bit shorter than today’s 91 minutes. The change may result from earthquake activity, changes to the water table, climate change, or human activities like water diversion and construction projects.

"But this I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
“The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord."
Lamentations 3:21-26

Daily Dog Challenge: Unconventional
I think it's rather unconventional to have a dog in the library :)
Thought I would add another bicycle shot to my set. I think one can almost see how those old bikes are loved and have been faithful for a long time...

This image represents one of the first photographs taken after nearly two months of not even picking up my camera. This is also my first upload here on flickr in over two months. It's been even longer since I've had the time to comment on everyone's photostreams. Now that life is settling down into a more manageable pace, I hope to begin catching up with all of you.
I titled this image Old Faithful because no matter the season, this creek always has good flow. On the day I shot this I had checked on a few other creeks and found them very dry and finally decided to go here - I knew there would be water and I knew the late afternoon light would be sweet.
