Governor Romney claims that capping tax deductions as part of his plan to pay for across the board tax cuts would make his plan "revenue neutral". The math doesn't add up. Read Third Way's analysis in The New Romney Tax Plan: Does it add up?

I'm not exactly sure what to make of it, but unless this is an embarrassed, tongue-in-cheek retraction, it looks like WPIX thinks they pranked IE by running the Best Funeral Ever as actual news and never retracting it.

Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines... we could lower that by perhaps 10 - 15%"

The actual quote is "The world today has 6.8 billion people. That's headed up to about nine billion. Now, if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we could lower that by, perhaps, 10 or 15 percent. But there, we see an increase of about 1.3" from this Ted Talk by Bill Gates:

He's not talking about reducing the world population by 10-15% by using vaccination, but reducing the anticipated growth up to 9 bilion by 10-15%.

Will RINO Romney Reflect the better half of Obama?

Click the following links to compare the Big Government Records of RINO Romney and Obama…

Governor Romney's Job Record vs Obama's Job Record

"By the way, we created more jobs in Massachusetts than this President in the entire country." - Mitt Romney, Jan. 3, 2012

Massachusetts ranked 47th in job growth during Romney’s entire term. Romney took office during an economic upswing yet, Massachusetts' net job growth of 1.4 percent was far below the growth of the national average at 5.3 percent.

RomneyCare vs ObamaCare

Obamacare aka Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act contains 18 fees, penalties, and taxes which will increase taxes $503 billion from 2010 to 2019.

Hospital Insurance Tax - $210 billion

3.8% Tax on investment income - *

Mandate Penalties - $65 billion

Health Insurance Provider Fee - $60 billion

“Cadillac” Tax - $32 billion

Prescription Drug Fees - $27 billion

Ethanol Tax - $24 billion

Medical Device Tax - $20 billion

Business Regulation Costs - $17 billion

Reducing Medical Deductions - $15 billion

FSA Limits - $13 billion

Reduce HSAs & FSAs - $5 billion

Eliminate Deduction 4 Prescriptions - $4.5 billion

Increase Corporate Tax - $4.5 billion

10% Excise Tax on Tanning Services - $2.7 billion

Increased Penalty on HSA products - $1.4 billion

Health Insurance Companies Tax - $0.6 billion

Repeal deduction for Blue Cross/ Sheild - $0.4 billion

_______________________________

* Revenue raised is included in the $210 billion figure shown above.

Romneycare has increased private insurance costs by $4.3 billion, increased federal spending by $2.4 billion on Medicaid, and Romneycare is estimated to cost $2 billion more than was budgeted over 10 years.

Eventually, RomneyCare like ObamaCare will collapse under the weight of its own costs and inefficiency.

Why are Conservatives voting for Newt Gingrich who boldly claims both by his Words and Actions that he represents Big Government?

(1) Newt Gingrich loves the Individual Mandate of Healthcare Insurance while the majority of Americans strongly oppose Obamacare primarily due to the Individual Mandate. Gingrich revealed he supported the Individual Mandate in 1993 and 2011. Gingrich revealed he supported RomneyCare's Individual Mandate in 2006.

(2) Newt Gingrich loves Progressive Big Government. "Conservative" Newt Gingrich LOVES big government progressive socialist FDR

Newt Gingrich: Constitution doesn't apply in GWOT - YouTube Video GWOT = Global War on Terror since 9/11

According to the New American, Newt's Contract With America was another Gingrich con game using the “balanced budget amendment” to reduce Big Government, welfare, tax burdens, etc. If Newt was loyal to his Constitutional oath, he would have removed not reduce welfare programs. Instead, the budgets of the 95 major programs that the Contract With America promised to eliminate increased by 13% according to Edward H. Crane, president of the Cato Institute.

(3) Newt Gingrich loves Government Sponsored Enterprises.

"There are a lot of government-sponsored enterprises that are awfully important and do an awfully good job." — Newt Gingrich Dec 15, 2011

(4) Newt Gingrich loves Green Energy Projects like the Solyndras of Barack Obama by creating incentives and rewards for “green” companies as noted in “A Contract with the Earth,” a book Newt co-authored in 2008. Newt claims We Can Have Green Conservatism.

(5) Newt Gingrich loves shredding our Second Amendment rights with gun-control legislation.

Gingrich worked with with Nancy Pelosi to pass the “Criminal Safezones Act” H.R. 3610 - Sept. 28, 1996 aka Gun Free School Zones Act to prevent armed citizens from defending themselves in certain arbitrary locations. Both Liberal Nancy and Neocon Newt know that they created criminal safety zones since criminals ignore the laws.

Although Newt voted against the Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act H.R. 1025 - Nov 10 & 23, 1993, Gingrich indicated he supported the Brady National Gun Registry AKA Handgun Control and Violence Prevention Act of 1995 (Brady II - H.R. 1321) in general by stating, "I think we prefer to go to instant check on an immediate basis and try to accelerate implementing instant checks so that you could literally check by thumbprint… Instant check is a much better system than the Brady process." Newt on June 27, 1997.

Brady II was Congressman Charles Schumer's omnibus bill to create a comprehensive handgun licensing and registration system. Since the 1986 McClure-Volkmer Act prohibits the government from compiling a comprehensive central database of gun dealer records, Brady II never became law.

Recently, Bills have been introduced to create a federal firearm license. Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 (H.R. 45 aka the National Gun Registry and Citizen Disarmament Act). H.R. 45 is an reintroduction of (H.R. 2666- Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2007 which also Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act.

According to the National Association for Gun Rights, Newt has refused to respond to their Presidential Survey on important Second Amendment issues.

(6) By voting for the World Trade Organization, Newt Gingrich loves the Global Governance of the United Nations. HR 5110 - Yea on Nov 29, 1994

The WTO regime placed trade expansion above consumer safety: "decisions by U.S. government officials about food safety are now subject to oversight by trade tribunals operating behind closed doors whose goal is to facilitate trade, not to safeguard the interests of U.S. consumers." - Source

(7) By voting for NAFTA, Newt Gingrich loves undermining American Sovereignty for Rockefeller's New World Order. HR 3450 - Yea on Nov 17, 1993 America had a $1.35 billion trade surplus with Mexico in 1994 when NAFTA went into effect. Since 1995, America's trade deficit with Mexico has grown from $15.8 billion to $66.4 billion in 2010. - Source

(8) By Cosponsoring the Global Warming Prevention Act, Newt Gingrich loves creating a climate change crisis “to reduce world emissions of carbon dioxide by at least 20 percent." HR 1078 - introduced Feb 22, 1989

Carbon dioxide is one twenty-sixth of one percent (0.038%) in the Atmosphere and CO2 is kept in Balance by silicate weathering as shown by the CO2 Diagram. In addition, man-made Carbon dioxide is 0.0012255% which proves that Greenhouse Gas has no impact on Climate Change.

Yet, Newt Gingrich strongly supported a "cap and trade" carbon trading scheme in 2007, "I think if you have mandatory carbon caps combined with a trading system, much like we did with sulfur, and if you have a tax-incentive program for investing in the solutions, that there’s a package there that’s very, very good. And frankly, it’s something I would strongly support." - Gingrich Frontline Feb 15, 2007

Fortunately, President Reagan vetoed the anti-First Amendment Bill cosponsored by 'Reagan Conservative' Newt Gingrich

In 2006, Newt Gingrich claimed the government needed "to break up their capacity to use free speech" in order to fight terrorism. Newt knows that our republic form of government was created to protect our Bill of Rights not shred them under the guise of fighting terrorism.

(10) By voting for Jimmy Carter's Department of Education, Newt Gingrich loves Unconstitutional Authority over Americans House Vote #468 on S. 210 - Yea on Sep 27, 1979.

According to the Constitution, the federal government has NO authority over education. Newt helped garner support for President Jimmy Carter's control over American education.

Newt recently toured the nation with Reverend Al Sharpton, a controversial left-wing activist, and Secretary of Education Arne Duncan to promote President Obama’s education reforms and charter schools. GinGrinch proves that Newt endorses liberal Obama's unconstitutional measures.

(11) By endorsing pro-abortion same sex marriage activist Dede Scozzafava who supported Obama's Porkulus Plan Newt Gingrich proves once again that he is a fake conservative RINO (Republican in Name Only).

(12) Newt Gingrich supported TARP (Troubled Asset Relief Program) by stating he would reluctantly vote Yes for TARP if he was in Congress after Newt called the proposed TARP legislation socialism and it should be defeated in it's form on September 25, 2008 (Hannity and Colmes). "I think what they're doing is just wrong. And I think that it's likely to fail, and it's likely to make the situation worse over time." -Newt Gingrich Sep 2008

I have seen this statistic several times on LinkNYC, and it's obviously wrong: There are 3 million immigrants in New York City, and there aren't 2.3 million nurses and home health workers. I think they meant to say that 77% of home health workers and nurses are foreign-born.

Collaborative factchecking? Crowdsourcing? Citizen journalism?

Very interesting.

Often, a tiny noisy minority will try to hijack a perfectly peaceful, well organised, well attended and well behaved gathering of protesters. Yesterday at Liverpool's 'Bedroom Tax' protest in the city's Derby Square, just such a (very) vociferous few (see above), tried but failed.

☝️ Cyrus Jannsen discusses the Covid situation in China. Jannsen quoted this article on how the U.S. incentives hospitals to overstate the number of Covid deaths:

www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2020/04/24/fact-che...

Fact check: Hospitals get paid more if patients listed as COVID-19, on ventilators

Sen. Scott Jensen, R-Minn., a physician in Minnesota, was interviewed by "The Ingraham Angle" host Laura Ingraham on April 8 on Fox News and claimed hospitals get paid more if Medicare patients are listed as having COVID-19 and get three times as much money if they need a ventilator.

Jensen said, "Hospital administrators might well want to see COVID-19 attached to a discharge summary or a death certificate. Why? Because if it's a straightforward, garden-variety pneumonia that a person is admitted to the hospital for – if they're Medicare – typically, the diagnosis-related group lump sum payment would be $5,000. But if it's COVID-19 pneumonia, then it's $13,000, and if that COVID-19 pneumonia patient ends up on a ventilator, it goes up to $39,000."

He noted that some states, including his home state of Minnesota, as well as California, list only laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 diagnoses. Others, specifically New York, list all presumed cases, which is allowed under guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as of mid-April and which will result in a larger payout.

Jensen said he thinks the overall number of COVID-19 cases have been undercounted based on limitations in the number of tests available.

The coronavirus relief legislation created a 20% premium, or add-on, for COVID-19 Medicare patients.

There have been no public reports that hospitals are exaggerating COVID-19 numbers to receive higher Medicare payments.

Jensen didn't explicitly make that claim. He simply suggested there is an "avenue" to do so now that "plausible" COVID-19, not just laboratory-confirmed, cases can be greenlighted for Medicare payment and eligible for the 20% add-on allowed under the relief act.

Cyrus Jannsen's guest, Alex Reporterfy who lives in China, referred to this website in Seattle, WA which shows much lower numbers of Covid infections and deaths after China's reopening than the mainstream media are portraying.

covid19.healthdata.org/china

From China's CGTN, here's an interview with a Hong Kong University Med School professor. He recommends the people in China should have 3 to 4 doses of the vaccines and that the Chinese government should stockpile Pfizer's Paxlovid pills to give to seniors over 65 as soon as they tested positive to save lives. He also believes China has passed the Covid infection peak. I think he's right on all counts. On China's Covid peaking, that seems to be the case at least for the first wave. There will probably be a second wave with the upcoming Chinese New Year. China also has predicted there might be a third wave following that. But they suspect that should be it.

I find myself feeling very frustrated and truly concerned for the future of my country and the many millions of people who are affected by the actions of my country and the people who run it. I feel that the world is at an interesting and crucial time in its history and as I watch them parrot their empty promises as they demean the struggles and hard work of the dedicated few, I shake my head with the disgust with which I regard their lies and the distractions that they attempt to pass off as plans and empathy and knowledge. I am sick to my stomach with it all, and wonder when things became so flattened, so black and white, so devoid of depth and discussion or any true dialog about the travesty of the human condition and what needs to be done NOW, before it is forever too late.

Not that I have any answers. . .mostly just more and more and more questions. . .

Both sides of the bookmark we handed out at our session on applying some basic fact-checking skills to online news.

The Obama campaign is in an uproar about photos being circulated by Clinton Staffers. The photos show Obama dressed in a traditional Muslim Elder from Somalia. The irony is that the more the mainstream press keeps the 'Muslim' rumors just below the waterline the more people think there is something to them. I myself assumed that Obama must have been a 'reformed' Muslim, attending a Christian church just for show. I got tired of the 'elephant in the room' and decided to do a little digging of my own. I won't vote for Obama for one simple reason: his tax policy. It doesn't have anything to do with his religion. But for those of you who were wondering:

Here are the facts: Obama moved from Hawaii to Indonesia when he was six and attended a Madrasah (?????) in Jakarta until he was ten. The curriculum was generally secular according to 60 Minutes. His biological father (a Kenyan national) was a Muslim, but was a confirmed atheist and his stepfather (an Indonesian national) was also Muslim, but according to Obama he was "a man who saw religion as not particularly useful." His experience in Indonesia seemed to be the most positive part of his life.

Obama wrote in his best selling book, that when he returned to the United States he began using alcohol, marijuana and cocaine to "push questions of who I was out of my mind." In 1988 Obama joined the Trinity United Church of Christ, the largest congregation in the United Church of Christ (Oprah attends). Obama denies that he has ever been a Muslim, suggesting that he is a committed Christian.

The proof? Lots of leaders have worn local garb:
