SET 3 – Colony Crossing Kroger, Pre-Remodel

“Whipping” past that area (see what I did there?), in this shot we are taking a pretty nice look out over the health care department in front of the pharmacy, as it transitions to the front end on the right side of the image. I’m curious about the HABA décor on the shelves, as well as the hanging ceiling features above: do y’all think those came with the store, or were added later? Typically I associate that design the most with bountiful (aka 2012) décor, but I am also aware it is not specific to any one décor package, and has in fact been used with multiple looks within Kroger stores (and may still be current today…?). This store in particular opened in early 2008, which is a bit earlier than I would’ve thought this HABA design language existed… but it absolutely could be original to the store, and my timeline understanding is just off.

At the risk of having too long of a description (who, me?! lol XD ) – take a look juuuust right of center, where you can see a kinda dark little cubby/alcove area. That’s one and the same with the area I referenced back in this image and description. We’re inching closer to it, and as I promised we will discuss it in greater detail once we finally make it there; but these images from afar really help add to the context of it also, so just be sure to keep this image in your back pocket for the time being. (Patience, grasshopper!)

These places are public so these photos are too, but just as I tell where they came from, I'd appreciate if you'd say who :)

Last surgery picture, I promise;

I don’t normally display my ears but just to show that I had them pinned back a little. The stitching runs right round to the back as this is where the facelift joins the ear.

Just what Brasília needed (and still needs). Starting with the metropolitan cathedral

The four tall buildings near Bergen's Danmarksplass, built by housing cooperative BOB in 1963, got a serious facelift in 2009, adding glass-enclosed balconies placed slightly askew.

For now it seems a bit of an empty architectural gesture, as these massive buildings are on a highly polluted artery that is travelled by tens of thousands of vehicles daily. But hopefully someday, when all cars are electrical, producing no noise and no noxious fumes, those balconies may become more than just extra storage space.

Red cladding has been installed. Shouldn't be too long until the facelift is complete.

Sacramento, California

Since shooting this place among my first of the commercial additions of Sacramento series, this one has just freshened up with a new coat of paint and a new vintage steel sign advertising it as Family Laundry. But I doubt it's gonna reopen for business because wheelchair accessibility has obviously not changed.

The original 400 Series, launched as a four door saloon in April 1990, was simply a saloon version of the second generation Rover 200 Series hatchback, both sharing the codename R8 during development. With the 200 Series was launch six months earlier.

Both cars were designed in collaboration with Honda (who produced the corresponding designed for Europe Concerto model) and both models would share production lines at Rover's Longbridge facility. It used the same core structure and mechanicals as the Honda, but the rear end redesign of the glasshouse and body were unique to Rover. Interior trim and electrical architecture were all shared with the R8 Rover 200. The R8 Rover 200 and 400 were the first applications of Rover's K Series family of engines (appearing in 1.4 L (1,396 cc) twin-cam sixteen valve form). While the 1.6 litre (1,590 cc) version used either a Honda D16A6 and D16Z2 SOHC or D16A8 DOHC powerplant, while the 2.0 L M Series unit from the 800 Series followed soon afterwards (1991) in the sportier versions.

A mid life facelift (also applied to the Rover 200) saw the reintroduction of the Rover grille which had also reappeared on the R17 facelift of the Rover 800. This change was achieved without significant change to the remaining structure, but provided a more distinctive Rover family and establish a certain distance from the Honda Concerto.

An estate — or station wagon — version was subsequently developed by Rover Special Products. Badged as the 'Rover 400 Tourer', this remained in production alongside the second generation 400 until 1998
