I found several faces in photos of ice that formed on the inside of my windows a couple of days ago. The only editing I did to it is to saturate the colours and to dodge & burn parts in Photoshop, no cloning was done at all.

These birds have such a fine delicate set of markings. The soft grey makes a fine base for the sculpted black feathers and face.
When I first strated bird photography, these were some of the very first birds I worked with.
Still have a warm fuzzy for them.
I've been assuming non-breeding white-faced Ibis, Plegadis chihi, because of where this is (Las Vegas area) and no reported sightings of glossy at the time I took this picture in that area.
But is it? Brown eye, not red. Should I be labeling this a glossy ibis?
Note: this was taken at Henderson Bird Viewing preserve, a few miles southeast of Las Vegas, and an area with lots of birders walking around in the mornings.

Found the Sigma 150-600 much more useful in the boggy habitat than a 100mm macro. (tripod kept sinking though!)

i know what y'all are thinking...that i'm dragging out the old summer flower shots already.
but this was just taken a couple of weeks ago at the botanic gardens...outside even!
they were busy planting away to my surprise and delight!

The world of macro-photography has created a whole new set of challenges and adventures for me. I am really enjoying those challenges, especially when other wildlife photography opportunities are limited.

黑面琵鷺是目前全世界6種琵鷺中，數量最稀少的種類。
形態特徵：
體長：71-83公分，全身體色與琵鷺酷似，嘴長、先端為黑色、扁平呈現匙狀，且嘴基、額、眼先端之黑色相連。夏羽：全身大都為白色，但後頭飾羽及頸下為黃色；冬羽：全身白色。
生物習性：
常小群出現於海岸附近的沙洲及淺灘，大多在黃昏及夜間覓食，白天休息停棲。覓食時，會以扁平的匙狀嘴喙於淺水中左右撈動。主要食物為魚類、昆蟲、兩生類等等。
棲地分布：
主要分布在亞洲東部、韓國、中國東北或西伯利亞地區，多棲息於濕地與沼澤中。會在臺灣地區度冬。
